I have to hand it to Houston sports teams. We are exceptional tankers.

    Astros: 2011-2013
    Rockets: 2021-2022?
    Texans: 2002 - present

    It’s going to hurt

But at the end of the day, All you can focus on is putting yourself in the correct position and we did that

I mean is it really a complete 100% consensus that the number one pick is Cunningham?

I’ll be honest with you, more due diligence needs to go in on Jalen Suggs, Jalen green and Mobley

    Just not 100% sold yet

as predicted, 536 was way off. There are currently 6 teams at .313 or worse. They really need to figure out how end-season tanking works in their models ... which also, obviously, affects why they predict too few wins for the best teams.

I already explained that it was their projection at the time, and that the projection changes as they update every week, yet you’re still fixated on it...ok

I wasn’t arguing with you?? I merely quoted you, because your post contained the prediction.

and yes, I am fixated with why they’d choose a model for Wins that is so historically inaccurate every year. The “but only the seeding really matters” is a fair excuse ... like the “hard to predict election turnout” excuse for election polls.

But in sports, seems Vegas (also adjusted frequently) is better than this for predicting Wins, because late season tanking always happens like clockwork, so you have more historical data than the “voter turnout” unpredictability excuse. You just don’t know which teams will trade away at deadline for tanking purposes (like ORL), which no model can predict, but other tankers are predicable. Then you see who they play at end of year, and adjust your prediction for their wins.

I've been Googling "NBA mock draft" daily for two months straight. I have yet to find a single analyst who doesn't think Cade is going first.

Now that hardly makes it a 100% certainty, but I can't recall a time when a consensus No. 1 guy didn't go No. 1. Would you want to be the GM that passes on him? I wouldn't.

The way the Rockets have been finding these late round / second round gems. We might be better off with the 40th pick.
