I have picked 4th on three occasions with Jalen Green falling to us. It's too close for comfort! You should definitely represent us at the lottery.
Kuminga isn't a true 3. He is a 4/3 combo forward. He isn't my first choice by any means, but I like him.
Question: So the draft order is according to the 72 games regular season records, right? Not counting the play-in.
The losers of the play-in are in the lottery, and get a top 14 pick, even if they were for example the 17th worst team in the regular season. This means we may not get the Blazers pick this year.
That blows. Obviously this pick isnt nearly as important as the Rockets own selection but I hate losing another crack at a cost controlled player. While I do think having 4 first round picks in another loaded draft (2022 appears pretty rich with talent though its a long way away), I worry that mgmt may not be as patient as they say they are and would make a rash decision if they do not see appreciable improvement next season.
I seen him in the gleague, I don’t want him playing at the 4 because I don’t want Wood playing the 5. Comprendé? If we’re going to make him out of, then I’m more than ok trading Wood. I can’t stomach to watch another season of Wood getting abuse by average centers. Wood is not a 5 in this league
Yes, of course. Wood is too thin to play around the basket against bigs. Bassey could be a useful backup 5 with the Bucks pick. Nevertheless, a new starting center can only be acquired through FA. Kelly is a nice 5, but he's plays a bit like Scola.
That's actually both good and bad. Portland might end up being a lottery team if they lose the play-in. But Miami's pick may end up better if we don't land a top 4 pick.
I am worried that Mobley is the next Bill Russell and we are going to pass on him because we have Christian Wood.
I think if anything, the Olynk-Wood minutes have increased the likelihood of the twin towers approach. Especially one as mobile as Mobley.
I got bored and went ahead and did the lottery simulator 500 times lol..results were as follows 15%@#1 (always Cade) 15%@#2 (mostly Suggs) 10%@#3 (mostly Mobley) 11%@#4 (always Green) 49%@#17 (always Josh Giddey) Needless to say, June 22nd is either boom or gloom day for all us diehards..may the 1-4th be with you
I ran one the other day where OKC picked 1st and 5th while GSW got the 2nd and 4th picks .... That's the ultimate nightmare scenario.
I like the idea of a big point guard ..... but I don't take Giddy in the lottery , other than size , he seems so physically limited. Not quick , not strong , not an exceptional leaper and a mediocre shooter. Other than his size & position , I really don't see a comparison to Simmons who's a much better athlete. He seems like a pick six lotto ticket to me .... Maybe with one of the Portland / Milwaukee picks.
I always got Josh Giddey at 17 too. Blergh! I feel my bile rise now everytime I see Giddey highlights or even when his name is mentioned. I blame Tankathon on that Pavlovian response. I'd MUCH rather draft Kai Jones at 17 (or 16).
I prefer 6'10 Vrenz Bleijenbergh over Giddey, just the better all around player. Bigger, stronger, longer, better shooter, better defender. And Vrenz is likely an end of the 1st pick. Like @saleem said, Vrenz could be the next Poku.
I love bouncy players too and Kuminga's athleticism is elite. But he is not elite at basketball. I would draft 6'9 Scottie Barnes or 6'9 Jalen Johnson over 6'7 Kuminga. Because noth Barnes and Johnson are point forwards who are elite on defense.
Definitely. Go with raw upside if we end with 17. Giddy shouldn't be our man even with the 21st pick from the Bucks.
Does that mean that the Rockets are likely to end up with the Miami and the Bucks picks, if they miss out on a top 4 pick?
