The thing is “clutch” is defined as the last 5 minutes of close games. They have 26 of these such games this season. So that’s 130 minutes where his shooting numbers are great. The problem there is that he has played 1685 other minutes this season where his shooting numbers are some of the worst in the league.

So sure, kudos to Russ for being pretty awesome for that 7% of the time he’s been on the floor this season. The other 93% hasn’t been good. Evidenced by his season long numbers.

He’s also an awful defender. Oh and he leads the league in turnovers and averages 20% more turnovers per game than the 2nd highest. So there’s that too.

 

I really wish they could sneak in to the 7th seed and put a scare into Brooklyn. Sadly, I don't think it will happen.

Westbrooks rebounds don't count. Hell even his assists or wins don't count, its by the dictionary stat padding. No one else does it because everyone else in the league has way too much integrity otherwise we'd just have a league of all losing teams throwing around arbitrary triple doubles every night.

you seem to just be in awe with this guy, when in reality he isn't that impressive at all when it comes to translating to the most important thing and that's winning games

 

I didn't think Westbrook could get any better but he has proved me wrong again.

 

Anyone that says Russ' rebounds aren't legit just hasn't watched him play. He really does fight for them. There were smallball nights when he played with us that he was out rebounding opposing team bigs.
