You are truly a lucky man. I would love to go to E3. They will have EQ2 there, plus a ton of other great things. I currently live in LA. If while you are there and have some free time, I'll happily buy you beer if you'll tip me off to games I should be on the look out for. E-mail me at the address here, if you feel like hanging out at all.

my bro is in LA for a gaming convention, so I assume it must be E3. his wife is manager at a Game Stop in Austin and was invited to the convention. my bro had to pay for a pass, i think. here is his site http://bone.thajungle.com/
There goes the promise I made to myself to actually study next semester, especially if they put FIFA on XBOX Live.
When NBA games start rolling out this year we should have a clutchfans tournament via xbox live or any other system that would be awesome
I woudl be so down to start up a league to play. I used to be on it 24/7 but always late night cuase i don't get out of the club till late. I can't believe it's been like 4 years since i went to E3 for my gaming company. It was nice to go in as press cause you got so much free stuff and got into booths you couldn't get to as well as parties.....real fun...i think i am going to have to go again.
Sounds like Nintendo had a hell of a first day. New Zelda game with 'realistic' graphics. DS handheld announced and shown...with some killer support as well (along with wireless capabilities). Metroid Prime 2. All the game sites are going nuts over their press conference...and the website was getting hammered all day. Meanwhile, Halo 2 videos looked awesome as well. I'm going to be very broke this year.
The DS-It sits somewhere between the Nintendo 64 and the GameCube in its abilities The PSP Both of this thing look really good.
PSP looks like to have the better graphics. Any price range on both of these? With the annoucing of DS, i hope the GBA SP price goes down, waiting on it to go down and pick one up.
Yeah, but the PSP is much more expensive, right? Booth babes! Get us pictures, DaDa! "Good luck. We're all counting on you."
We tried to do this last year with ESPN Basketball and only myself and one other poster actually participated. The DS is Virtua Boy 2.0. Anyone who buys it will get clowned.
At E3, old stuff is new again http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/2004-05-12-e3-wrapup_x.htm By Mike Snider, USA TODAY LOS ANGELES — Among other game introductions and unusual twists at E3: •Jade Empire (Bioware, for Xbox, spring 2005), an Xbox exclusive from the developers of Knights of the Old Republic, has the combination punch of a 3-D fighting game and a role-playing adventure. The martial arts are key here, and it all plays out (yes, there's a story) in a tale of revenge and revolt in a samurai-tinged world. •Fable (Big Blue Box/Lionhead Studios, for Xbox, fall), a long-awaited role-playing game from "god-game" designer Peter Molyneux, gives you full responsibility for your character's development: From the beginning, when your character is a child in this magical medieval setting, choices you make determine the path ahead. Whether you choose the good side or the dark side affects whether you eventually evolve into a beloved hero or a feared villain. •GoldenEye: Rogue Agent (Electronic Arts, for PS2, GameCube and Xbox online, fall), Electronic Arts' next James Bond game, resurrects a beloved GameCube title from the past. But in this chapter, you're the bad guy, rubbing elbows with classic Bond villains. Your job as a secret agent is to support Goldfinger in his power struggle against Dr. No. Your allegiance is secured after Goldfinger has you outfitted with a synthetic eye to replace the one Dr. No yanked out. •Spider-Man 2 (Activision, for PS2, GameCube and Xbox, June) has a distinctive, sprawling Grand Theft Auto feel that gives the webhead more room to roam than past games. Now Spidey gets to swing free and easy along the New York skylines. Just as in the movie, he has to dispense with Dr. Octopus, but the action here goes beyond the big screen with classic villains such as Electro, the Lizard, Mysterio and the Black Cat making cameos. When not fending off baddies, gain spider strength by searching the city for crimes to prevent. •Dead or Alive Ultimate (Tecmo, for Xbox, fall) brings sexy 3-D fighting women online. This two-disc set combines the original Dead or Alive, previously available only in Japan, and a redesigned Dead or Alive 2 with added features, including exotic stages (beaches, snowy mountains, jungles) and choices of outfits for the fighters. •The Legend of Zelda (Nintendo, for GameCube, next year) makes Shigeru Miyamoto's hero, Link, man-sized and three-dimensional — not young and cartoonish as in recent iterations of the wildly successful series. Not much more information was revealed, but Miyamoto offered that "we're taking him to a world where he will look and act different." Lower-profile video games may come out firing Offerings at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, or E3, ending Friday, depend heavily on the sales power of sequels and stars. Nonetheless, some lower-profile combat video games on display may turn out to be surprise hits as well. Here are a few promising smaller titles: Full Spectrum Warrior Pandemic Software for THQ, for XBOX, June This realistic modern-day combat game is based on a U.S. Army simulation used to train troops for urban combat. "It's nothing if not completely authentic," says Peter Dille, THQ's senior vice president of worldwide marketing. "The object of a lot of games is to run down the street blasting everything in sight. The object of this is to get through the game keeping your guys (squad) alive." Brothers in Arms Gearbox Software/Ubisoft, for PS2, Xbox, PCs and perhaps GameCube, late this year This WWII shooter is based on another real-life band of brothers. Like those in the HBO series, they are paratroopers in the 101st Airborne Division invading Normandy. The developer used photos of the coast to re-create the terrain and went through weapons training and squad maneuvers. "It's very much like a time machine that puts you in the boots of a paratrooper in the dark of D-Day," says retired U.S. Army colonel John Antal, game consultant. Killzone Sony, for PS2, November This impressive-looking first-person shooting game is touted as a "Halo-killer" for PlayStation, referring to the space battle that has become Xbox's biggest hit. The epic war game is set in the near future but has a feel of combat in the Vietnamese and European theaters. You are a soldier in the International Strategic Alliance fending off an attack by the Helghast, dark storm troopers with infrared eye goggles. "It is a very exciting game in terms of look and feel," says Sony's Kaz Hirai. "It really puts you right into the action." Advent Rising Majesco Games, Xbox and PCs, fourth quarter of 2004 Rising is the first of a planned intergalactic trilogy being developed with the help of best-selling sci-fi author Orson Scott Card. With obvious influences from Halo and another big title, Half-Life, this cinematic space epic has the human race trying to repel an assault by the Seekers. Some of the soundtrack is provided by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
Strange, I've been reading just about every VG site I can since E3 started, and they're all saying the opposite??? If anything, they are surprised that the DS is as stong as it is. (Just expected a weak showing from it)
