What do people think about alt coins? V.1 [discussion]

i'm very interested in privacy coins because of the threat of digital fiat, but unsure which coin to go with and when to enter, don't want to enter right before a 2017 type crash. digital fiat really sounds like a nightmare, and it will be abused - govs can not only track every transaction, it can be programmed to set rules, like barring certain types of transactions based on x conditions. "good" qualities of crypto (programmable smart contracts, transparency, record/ledger of every transaction) but weaponized against our privacy/freedom to spend. taxes won't be filed, it'll be deducted automatically.

if digital yuan is a success, may be not USA, but other countries will follow.

btc pumps, then btc momentum decelerates so ppl jump to alts which pump, then alts start to decelerate too... hope i'm wrong but it feels like 2017 again. holding doge and and some leftover nano and eth from 2017, other than that i'm waiting on the sidelines for a much bigger crash, maybe pick up some XMR in future. if the crash doesn't come i'll be content with what i have. despite recent uptrend my nano is still way below 2017 peak, not every alt will return to previous highs, there's always a shinier new coin round the corner.

We’ve had major whale dumps and Biden creating FUD all within the last week. Thing is some whales worry about capital gains taxes (what a nice problem to have) so they sell but there’s others that dgaf because they’re trying to secure as much btc as possible. Then there’s also baby whales and common folk ready to scoop anytime there’s a dip.

I too worry/think about the next crypto winter every day. But make no mistake we’re still in ALT season and I expect BTC to go on a run again as well. Overall I think things are still very bullish. From my research, overall opinions/consensus and gut feeling I think we’ll continue this bull run for the next 4-5 months. Most are predicting until the end of the year/early 2022 but I’m gonna say end of summer/early fall to be conservative. I’m playing with house money now but I’ll continue to buy the dips and pull some profit out in 4 months. If there is a major crash and long drought period I went into this planning to hold the majority long term 3-5 years with a “crypto winter” factored in so I’m fine either way.

Safemoon is literally a ponzy scheme masquerading at crypto. IMO. Be careful with that one man.

 

Usually actions occur before major obvious predictions when the smart money makes its move before the flock. You say we have till early 2022? So basically before Christmas ya might want to consider if you want out.

The correction is likely over when BNB, ADA, DOGE, and DOT are no longer top 10 market cap coins. Why? Significant corrections purge speculative trades.

If “Sell in May and Go Away” is in effect, crypto could correct for 3 or 4 weeks. This period is more than enough to purge speculative excess and set up a big rally in the summer.
