Rockets were officially eliminated from playoff contention tonight

    Party hard

Post your favorite memories of.... our ... playoff contention... this season

I liked the time when we put up 136 on the Thunder and then 87 the next game.

looked good for a brief run... after the diva was gone and before Wood went down... but then they rolled the tanks in...

The league is in profit recovery mode for at least the next 2 to 3 seasons. Houston would play in vain anyways.

Agreed. The question is will Tillman allow a multi year rebuild? Given the Oladipo aspect of the Harden trade my gut says no. That is the driving force behind my glomming onto Wood and KPJ. Whether they are good enough to be foundational pieces or not they're what Tillman will roll out I believe. Best I'm hoping for us a more organic sub .500 squad next year and a 5-10 pick. Hopefully they'll be able to move yup with their other selections.

Gordon and House was proof that they have been tanking. There has been no timeline set for them to return this season. The fix is in. The Rockets will get a top for pick. Rockets know this.Tilman knows this.

A groin can take a while to get right if it's a bad tear, but I never heard any details.

Really unfortunate Gordon got hurt right before the trade deadline. Being able to move him would have helped the rebuild along that much quicker.

Hopefully this off-season we can rectify being the 11th oldest team in the league. Just doesn’t make sense for our current position. We need more youth with potential.

Lol. They were eliminated from the playoffs the moment they traded Harden for garbage.

We'll push for a 7 or 8 seed next year. I would prefer another tank job for a high pick to hopefully set up a 'dynasty' but I think this team has the talent necessary to be a .500 team next year.

The rockets will be one of the worst teams in the league next year and miss the playoffs easily again. This isn't changing anytime soon

The dude who quietly carried us to record wins and contention? While all stars load managed he played heavy useage, minutes, games while being thrown every defense and finally got tired of this new owner shouting to win with a less product as he by fact watered dow the margins and quality of our team and put the onus on harden? It’s almost as if another superstar never left his original team with a lackluster ownership profiting hundreds of millions on his back while not staying up to league contention par when the window happens. Harden was frustrating, but he wasn’t the one who changed the trajectory.

That said, when melo got traded or really when many big moves are made thats a jolt of energy for the new squad with a sense of urgency for a next man up. We are seeing we weren’t that good, but we got a taste of silas and wood in full swing and full energy. Gives me hope, next year might be more oft he same. Tillman didn’t spend during our title window, he won’t spend next year and now in this current situation its fair. We also have our pick next year where HS players might come along and lets face it, we’re one of the worst teams in the league with some players who are nice. No depth whatsoever, but good likeable high spirit Houston players, but this is a talent league and we’re not even close.

We need 52 percent to work for us and there are great prospects. We probably need that to happen again next year without the pressure of losing our pick. Then we get rid of wall and I’m hoping by year 3 we’re trying to sniff the 8th seed and be the young pesky team no one wants to face and then...well woods and KPJ are going to be due contracts, probably both in the 20 million with inflation at this point it looks like and we’ll see if tillman has fixed his finances by then and if its even worth it bc by then will we be in contention, will we have generational talent.

Tillman is the owner who would’ve maybe flourished fi we had bought it instead of Alexander in the 90s, or he may have kept par, but seems out of his league in modern day nba economics.

Yea, Gordon particularly makes no sense. He’s not very vocal or a leader type, his contract is terrible especially because he can’t stay on the floor. Hopefully this offseason we can move him, but hes also a tough sell but lets see what loop holes stone can pull off, spurs always like aging players, who knows. I’d take anything including a dump for the guy.

We do need vets who can show the young guys how its done, thats important for culture. Guys who have authority and have done something in this league, even a haslem type of who doesn’t play who instills professionalism on how to go about traveling, day to day workouts so forth to really squeee out the best of the young fellas. We don’t want Cade to get ROY and end up like Tyreke Evans. We’ve got to get set a culture, a foundation, a player development infrastructure especially with how young we’re going to be, that takes good Vets too...But Wall and Gordon are probably not those right vets, Avery Bradley is. Kelly’s 29, still hooping and a free agent. He can decide to goto a contender, or maybe he likes being showcased here, but in any case he will get a raise from his current contract unless he does a Montrez for a chance at title. But he serves as a strong on and off court culture guy and has been a breath of fresh air as a silver lining of the **** show we put on.
