I can't drive a stick. Or rather, I learned how ~30 years ago and never touched one again. I'm sure I could get you to the hospital but it might be faster for me to carry you.

That said, I can do most of the things on this list:

    Interesting topic.

Play golf - what makes this even more emasculating is that my wife played on her high school and college golf teams. She's hitting it 350 yards high and straight down the fairway....and I'm lucky if I can get the ball off the tee at all.

Smoke a brisket - I'm actually pretty terrible at grilling in general. I can throw some burgers and hot dogs on the (gas) grill for a pool party, but that's about as far as my grilling expertise goes.

Discipline my kids - I admit, I'm the fun dad. My wife handles the discipline. She's a teacher, so she's really good at it. Luckily, my boys are very well behaved so it doesn't come up much. But that's because of her, not me....

Manual transmission sports cars are about to become the vinyl records of the automotive world.

Not necessarily a man thing but because of my ADD which affects how I listen the most, I can never discern any lyrics in a song.

See, if you have testosterone in abundance, you are required to do manly feats of strength, dirty jobs, unhealthy acts, outdoor things or otherwise idiotic could-hurt-yourself things. It's hard to understand if you're not a man.

    I too am golfically challenged.

From xero's list I have never tried to sew, ironing clothes frustrates me, I cannot whistle, and I've never even thought about learning to pick locks.

Change my oil. I can probably learn I just don't have the time or interest.

That's my point -- car aficionados will seek out nice MTs and they are going to start getting expensive like records.

What am I not good at that is manly?

Well I had an issue when I was a teenager about wanting to become a "manly man" so I can do most of the manly stuff because I was insecure.

I would say that I wish I could compartmentalize as well as some manly men do. They have the ability to not let problems in one part of their life spill over into others.

I have the last year Subura Outback MT. Friends told me I shouldn't get it because it will be hard to resell. lulz. like you say, I'm betting the complete opposite, if I ever do sell it.

I wonder if the license plate "manual" is taken.

Yeah I learned to drive stick and then didn't do it for 15 years so I have forgotten again. I could practice our old family vehicles - '70 Chevelle or '30 Model A - but I don't have much free time, and I am too tall to comfortably drive the Model A anyway.

Same situation for other car things - changing a tire and the oil. I learned this a long, long time ago, but haven't done it in forever. I think I could do the tire if in a pinch but not sure of the oil.

"Survive a bear attack" at #7.

No practical data one way or the other, and I have no plans to piss off a bear to find out.

Pretty sure that is true for like 99.99% of the rest of the male population, too.
