Yeah, we're going to suck until Wall is off the team. However, I'm more concerned with the defense. I hope they're just playing bad defense because their tanking because giving up 115-130 points a night is not a recipe for success. KPJ is certainly a terrible defender. He modeled his game after Harden but he's a worse defender than Harden because he doesn't get strips of the ball Harden does and he doesn't have the body to defend the post. He has quickness, but I haven't seen him use it on defense.
John Wall - your tank commander! Started 4-8 and it was tight at the half.... finished 4-14 and -22 in a 22 pt loss... How do some folks not see the tanking on Walls part...?
Damn, we are so more fluid without Wall. I want to see Porter and wood with more touches and usage. 1st Games i thought Wall > Westbrook...but atm im not sure about that statement.
In 70 years i have seen a lot of bad sports teams in Houston This is probably one of the best Tank teams evrer. They have several good players on this Rockets team. Tilman will end up as one of the most hated owners ever. Tilman turned the Rockets into a pile of sh*t. A tightwad owner that wants to run with the big dogs but may end up losing this team or moving it like Bud Adams did. We could end up like Seattle soon
Nice cherrypicking. What you forgot to mention is the context - Rockets were losing by double digits going into halftime in most of those games. Dallas is a clear outlier, that was a well managed game. Orlando was leading by 10 going into the last minute of the 2nd quarter and was leading by 6 at halftime. Denver was a horrible game all around. In the 18 Rockets games that were within 5 points at halftime, Houston would lose 12 of 18 3rd quarters = 67%. Average margin of victory in those 6 third quarters = +3. Average margin of loss in those 12 third quarters = -7. Conclusion: Rockets are twice as likely to come out of the halftime flat when the game is close and they subsequently fall into twice as large deficits. P.S. Because of my arbitrary within 5 points criteria, I've excluded 5 other horrendous 3rd quarters: -13 vs DEN (losing by 10 at halftime) -12 vs DET (led by 8 at halftime) -18 vs MIA (led by 6 at halftime) -20 vs CHI (losing by 6 at halftime) -19 vs BOS (losing by 13 at halftime)
