A friend of mine works in one of the NYC DA's office, and he pointed out to me that had the shooter only shot up one Asian massage parlor, it would be hard to classify as a hate crime...but the fact that he went to 3 different locations that were Asian massage parlors makes it easier to classify as a hate crime. Also, he mentioned that there were other non-Asian massage parlors in the area, which strengthens the argument that he target the establishments that he did based on race.

Okay if he specifically targeted Asian places versus non Asian, I can see it being classified as a hate crime. However, I still don't like the concept that racism makes murder any worse. Murder is pretty much as bad as it gets. In this case, it really doesn't matter. He's getting the death penalty.

Yeah you're a real Rockets fan and you joined because you are a real Rockets fan

In a perfect situation, you would ONLY BE TALKING TO Rockets fans

Like if you as a Rockets fan think John Wall sucks

you wouldn't have to worry about a crazed John Wall fan joining Clutchfans to nut ride John Wall

Nothing is perfect. John Wall doesn’t suck...reportedly he was the only player who measured faster than Lin based on BAM when both were entering the NBA Draft.

They both should have gone onto track and field then. Both suck at basketball.

Great post. Don’t like the Basketball section turned into political talk but
You know the LOFs like doing that

for basketball, skill should conquer all
Like when the LOFs tried to say Lin was like Yao
He was nothing like him skill wise

I’d rather have Yao be the point guard cause Lin was so bad at it
I’d rather have Yao shoot threes too

Man..Yao would've feasted in this era. He was really mobile before he put on all that weight. His career might've lasted longer too. It also would've lasted longer if he didn't have to keep going back to play pointless games for the Nat'l team.

Van Gundy was the wrong coach for him.
He and Patrick Ewing turned him into Patrick Ewing.
    Adelman came in too late

Similar to baseball's minor league system. Some oldsters get stuck down there. See Bull Durham.

I think Yao came by his weight pretty naturally. I mean, the guy had those tree-trunk legs and wide hips. That doesn't emerge from spending too much time on "leg day." :)

Yeah, I miss the excitement and promise of Yao. Also his personality.

I'm not sure how relevant his age is in his not getting signed at this point. I've already said in this thread that I think he's lost too much of his physical athleticism to be effective in the NBA at this point. Also, he missed games in the G-League because of back-spasms...so even a team that was looking for an insurance player for the playoffs would look at his durability as a big red flag.

age (for being this old and still in the G-League) = lost too much of his physical athleticism = back-spasms = durability as a big red flag
