Yes, he’s still hurt. You can tell he’s still limping at times. I have no idea why they have him playing when he’s not 100% yet. This is a throw away year. He should not be risking further injury.
I figured as much. He doesn't have that consistent explosion he had earlier in the yr. I know they want to win at all cost but they have to think long term.
I think most fan bases overrate their players (just look at Miami and Herro. You'd think Herro a perennial all-star and top-20 player). This season has been good to help gauge our roster talent. Sterling Brown is better than I thought coming into the season. Not sure we re-sign him, and I think he'll command more than we paid him this season. Wood had a lot of hype coming into the year and has mostly lived up to it (he's a steal at his current salary). KPJ had way more hype, and has not lived up to expectations just yet. I think you're right that Wood is more of a 3rd option than a 1st option player. I see him as someone who might have an all-star season or two in his career, but overall his game is a little too limited right now and he relies too heavily on getting calls while being a subpar free throw shooter. KPJ is probably around the same thing, at least right now. A good 3rd option starter on a team, but not a #1 or even #2 (he's too limited offensively). Right now we have some good starters - KPJ, Wood, Tate, etc. But these are all "good" players. They are legit starters in the NBA. But we don't have any real "stars" who can get their shot whenever they want. And I'm not just talking about a James Harden-level player, but even a CJ McCollum, Jaylen Brown, etc. type. I'm hoping the draft fixes this problem, but that all depends on how the lottery unfolds.
I can agreed Too many 15 - 7 nights He needs to average 20 - 10 on a bad night I Think some is not getting the ball enough but he should be getting 7 defensive rebounds easily While we enamored with his offensive ability at the Center spot He is manhandled on the other end Porter suffers from the same thing . . .consistency but they got time Rocket River
He was actually extremely consistent to start the season, just went into a slump since the ankle injuries, happens with all players.
He'd look a lot better offensively with a good playmaking PG. I think he could be a Stoudemire 2.0 type player with a great playmaking setting him up.
Wood is not getting enough touches on the post. When there is a switch, rarely he gets a pass if there is a mismatch. i dont know why Silas does not maximize this. It is like when Hakeem complained of not getting touches, But Hakeem has a lot of opportunities in the post because that is their play and he does it with no switches. Wall, KPJ are way too selfish sometimes
