There’s still a 10-20% chance John Wall can be a star.

What !! No one bumped this !?

cmon y’all , he led us to a win vs Luka .

He might not play another game for us this year , but that just means he will be fresher for next season.

I bet he wins us one more this year . When he does y’all better take back some of the mean things you said . Plus , read the OP again I’m pretty sure I said NEXT season .

    10-20% chance man !

Look, I'm as happy as anyone with the win. This team has been struggling late in games and it's good to pull one out against a better team, for sure.

But if we're looking big picture, is the Mavs game a good template for a rebuilding team? Wall had 23 FGAs (which does not include his 6 FTAs, so maybe 26 attempts overall). Wood had 17 FGAs, but no one outside of him and Wall got touches. KPJ, who we traded Dipo away to give time to, had 9 FGAs. Tate had 7 shot attempts. KJ Martin had one shot all game (the alley oop dunk). DJ Wilson didn't see the court.

This season is already lost. I would much rather we fight and claw while giving young guys minutes at this point and letting them play with people who will give them touches. If Wall is going to hold the ball consistently for 15+ seconds per possession and take over 20 shots a game, then we're wasting valuable court time for the young guys. I love Wall, but he's not the future of this team. There's a chance we draft a PG depending on how the pick situation falls out, at which point we'll have to decide whether Wall comes off the bench or figure out if we can unload him.

It's the same season where Kelly Olynik is often single handedly winning the Houston Rockets games, don't question what you see here for a while.
