You have to at least give Buzbee credit....he's going to keep this thing interesting.

He's done a good job of dirtying Deshaun's reputation. And once all these women's names come out and the fans start harassing them, it'll be too late. The public has been swayed, and the massage jokes will be there even after he retires.

That Hardin press conference seems like it was a disaster.

1. admission he gets an insane number of massages across an insane number of people
2. Admits sex acts took place which stole the headlines
3. The COVID excuse coupled with the events that followed is so ridiculous on face it just further reduces their credibility.

The facts are looking really bad for Watson

Watson will own this, pay some fines, get a slap on the wrist, and then go on with the rest of his career like nothing ever happened. People will look at him differently, not unlike a Kobe or Big Ben, but they will get over it like they always do and move on to the next thing. I mean, come on, haven’t we all seen this before?

No we haven't seen a sexual predator play in the NFL.

 

During the press conference Hardin said we should take Watson's past into consideration. How Watson has been a pillar of the community and how he's never been in trouble. However every time I go to jury duty the judges and lawyers present have always told me never take the persons past into consideration. How just because they have a criminal record it doesn't mean they are automatically guilty. So which one is it?

 

When you're a juror, you're also only supposed to listen to the facts of the case presented in the courtroom rather than anything you hear outside of it. None of this - on either side - has anything do with jurors and what they are supposed to do. In the court of public opinion, you can take into account whatever you want.

 

First time for everything. Bet you anything this just goes away. Maybe I’m cynical, but when it comes to athletes I’m pretty much jaded into believing that they will get away with things that most people wouldn’t. Hell, anyone with enough money actually. Justice has always been for sale in this country, and he’s worth way too much money to too many people to be sent away over this. I’ll be beyond shocked if he misses even half a season when it’s all said and done.

 

I suspect that Harden will go after the accusers. His job now is to reduce the amount Watson has to pay in settlements. I don't think this gets to a court room. How fast and how clean (relatively) Watson comes out of this is the key.
