It is something the entire league does, to the point that everybody just accepts it, he certainly isn't along in using the sticky stuff. I really don't know how to feel about this. On one hand they are clearly singling out Bauer because he was the loudmouth, which is BS. On the other hand, Bauer is a douche and uncoincidentally decided to join in on the cheating when it was contract time. MLB does not like to investigate cheating willingly. Despite the entire league having a strong suspicion, they had absolutely no intention of going after our sign stealing until Fiers story made it impossible to ignore publicly.
Bauer should not be singled out. It was apparent that Bauer was highly likely cheating prior to Dodgers acquiring him and only as a response to the perception other pitchers were doing it. There are articles about it when his spin rate jumped up. If he is found that he cheated as a Dodger, to paraphrase MLB... this finding on the fact that the Club’s senior baseball operations executives were given express notice in March 2021 covering sticky substance, and those individuals took no action to ensure that the Club’s players and staff complied with those policies during the 2021 regular season.... I think MLB needs to declare a forgiveness for any previous actions. MLB needs to state that players will only be penalized for cheating if caught during a game except for PEDs or throwing a game. Teams will be held liable for cheating going forward whether caught in a game or not. Astros get Dodgers 1st and 2nd round picks in 2022 to soften Astros punishment and apply a punishment to the Dodgers.
https://blogs.fangraphs.com/an-early-look-at-the-new-baseball/ New baseball is bouncier and has more drag per FanGraphs. This is exactly what I would do if someone wanted me to design a ball that would increase home runs for the Astros, but try to limit them for other teams.
They all are... they know where their bread is buttered, and its not in Houston, Tampa, Arizona, Oakland, Seattle, KC, Miami, Cleveland, Toronto, Milwaukee, Denver, or Pittsburgh.
Olney getting a taste of his own medicine... Just because you don't explicitly say something doesn't mean your insinuations, retweets, and replies are innocent. He went with the mob against the Astros/Altuve. Now he's preaching to not go with the mob against Bauer. The mob is now going full steam on Olney's hypocrisy... whether or not he was truly a hypocrite.
LOL. This is great. buster the buster getting it, tyler getting it, dodgers overpaid. This is a great day.
So, looking around the A.L., the east is beastless and upside down. The Orioles and Red Sox? One team off to a good start in central (Minny 5-2). And then comes the Astros and Angels, both 6-2. Out of the gate, its 3 teams pulling ahead of the others. Minus the east, about what we expected?
