Would this be the best offseason?

I think a conservative approach may be our best approach this offseason:

    A. Try to ugrade the PF position with a role player who defends but also can score a little more than Cato.
    B. Upgrade at the back up point guard, someone who is big enough to allow Steve to move over to the 2 some.

Then Cato would be an excellent PF-C off the bench
MoTay would still provide spark at the 4 off the bench.

Maybe B. Barry would be an excellent back up guard pick up.
I think Stromile Swift would be an excellent PF pickup and he could start.

Steve may be ready to take another step of maturity and improvement at the point (fewer turnovers)
We need a better PF- more offense without giving up defense.
Boki may be ready to give some good back up minutes at the 3
Cato would be able to fill those minutes Yao can't give better off the bench.

We are fewer turnovers and a stronger bench from making another step forward.

This might work if we are not able to get a blockbuster move that is clearly in our favor (ie - instead of trading Steve for garbage.)

Can we all be that patient to take another baby step next season?

I respectfully disagree, I for one am not in the mood for a "conservative" approach. I bet I am not the only Rocket's fan that has just about had it. If major changes aren't made, I (and a host of others) will take a vacation from following the Rockets. It is no fun following a team that doesn't really improve significantly after five years. I want a PG that can dribble and chew gum at the same time and a mean-spirited PF with a money-shot AT THE MINIMUM. If the same team takes the court in the fall, many of us will be missing from the TC.

Solid- I agree if the same team shows up next year.
We are all sick of that...

Here's the optimist, IF we had fewer stupid turnovers and added a couple pieces, especially some good scoring from the starting 4 and we stayed nasty on defense.

Then we would be a much better team.

This team was flat out killed by turnovers.

The team has been flat out killed by turnovers for a while now. At some point you just have to face the fact that unless something miraculous happens this group of players is always going to be a turnover-prone team.
