The division in the country is done on purpose and benefits the media and politicians and corporations that sponsor them.

In a viral moment, Charles Barkley ripped politicians on both sides for creating and exploiting racial division to maintain their money and power. For this, CBS is sending him to racial sensitivity training to be less white.

Barkley will be sent to a two-week training at Coca-Cola.

Whenever somebody implies that all politicians are equally guilty of "divisiveness," that's a good indicator that they aren't informed on the issues that are causing the divisiveness.

Not trying to be obtuse here but you do realize that it doesn't matter to which party they belong - they are all beholden to lobbyists and big corporate money. Don't see them beholden to the media as they both use the media to service their positions. It's who they are - it's what they do. Remember that scene with Johnny Depp in Pirates Of The Caribbean where he's confronted after stealing? When asked why he stole Depp's response was "Pirate". Substitute "Politician" and you have the reason why. So when I read what Barkley said my initial reaction was "OK".

Actually, Sir Charles has proven to be a master of understatement. Back in 2017, he was on TNT in a series called "American Race": https://theundefeated.com/features/charles-barkley-tnt-series-race-in-america/. In one episode he's in Baltimore riding around with the police when he observes that black people leaving the area whenever a police car pulls up. Now this is two years after the Freddie Gray incident and years of "stop and frisk" policing in Baltimore. A surprised Barkley reacts: "there's a disconnect between the police and the community in Baltimore". You don't say...

He's partially correct about the current political situation because what he describes really exploded when Obama was elected President. There was a tremendous backlash from white people who saw his election as some sort bad omen. Hence all of the "he's Muslim" and "not a citizen" (birthers), the unrelenting animosity of the Tea Party (whatever happened to them?) and the outright hypocrisy, fake righteousness and not so thinly veiled racism of the evangelical Christian church. The night of Obama's election, Republicans gathered in a meeting, vowed not to cooperate with his administration and to obstruct his legislative agenda. It essentially marked the end of bipartisanship between both political parties and the foundation was racial animosity. After that the stage was set for the great conman Trump. But I don't need to explain any of this to you having read your posts.
