Defense wins games too, especially if defense is best in the NBA.

I think Stone made the right trade .... controlling another teams draft for 7 years is crazy.

All three of their "Stars" have two years plus player options left.

KD is falling apart at the seams .... they have to handle him with kid gloves as it is. They are hiding him , break glass in case of emergency ....

Kyree is nucking futz .... he could run right off the edge of the earth at any time in about two dribbles.

Harden ..... has he signed an extension with them yet ? .... He aint staying there if KD breaks or Kyree goes crazy.

Really , I think that team staying together hinges on Durant's health , if he isn't able to play at an allstar level , its over in Brooklyn.
They'll be stuck with John Wall's(Durant) contract and be deep in the (repeater) luxury tax .... while having no draft picks to fix the problem.

And Durant's already on a downhill ride .... This Nets team kinda reminds me of the 2003 Lakers when Karl Malone and Gary Payton joined Shaq & Kobe .... the next year that team didn't even make the playoffs.

They appear to be .... right now. They went all in on the next two years.

But those 7 years of draft control weren't a bet on right now but on how long they stay a good team ..... considering their age , contract status , injury issues and salary cap / tax issues , it won't be more than a couple years before they take a deep plunge in the standings.

The first domino to fall will be Durant .... He'll look more like Melo of the past couple years than what he was prior and cost them $42.7m to be terrible.

I realize Simmons’s impact goes past the box score, but it is unreasonable to expect him to appear on the box score?

This is kind of a silly comp, Lonzo was a 40% 3PT shooter on high volume in college, 36% his senior year in high school on high volume

Ben has never been able to shoot.

In all fairness, Alonzo completely rebuilt the mechanics of his shot. It’s totally different than what it was when he came into the NBA. He put the work in.

Ben is the 3rd best player on the Sixers right now, and the Sixers are statistically better on defense with him off the floor.

Much rather have the picks and wait for a legitimate number 1/2 guy, that isn't a diva.

The Nets deal was always the correct deal to make, regardless how badly the media wants to clown Houston for not immediately seeing returns on a deal that won't really convey until 2027.

people need to let this Ben Simmons Philly trade go...he would’ve accomplished absolutely nothing here, and the ancillary pieces like whatever trash picks they were offering and the likes of Thybulle or Maxey are simply irrelevant...we don’t really know what Simmons would’ve fetched from a 3rd team

    top 4 pick or bust

Simmons isn't going to do well without a number one scoring option next time him..... It's pretty obvious how well a team with a legit #1 scoring option can be with Simmons on it.

The time to have traded for Simmons was after the 2018 season and rolled with CP3 + Simmons until CP3's contract run out (2021 player option).

Simmons has had a couple of leg injuries since All Star break, it's obvious that it has affected his aggressiveness and explosiveness.

Simmons is the 3rd scoring option on his team behind Embiid and Harris

the only other time Philly was truly a factor, Simmons was the 4th scoring option behind Embiid, Butler, and Harris, and was placed in the dunker’s spot during the playoffs as they had to make Butler run the offense due to Simmon’s limitations

Embiid was out with injury post-ASB, and Simmons could still only muster up 11 shot attempts a game during that timespan

the Rockets were nowhere close to having an elite scorer and 1 or 2 more good scorers to surround Simmons with

You’re gonna put him as the 3rd option behind inefficient Wall and Wood who is really a 3rd option himself as well as surrounding him with the worst shooting in the league? Seriously, what was Simmons ever gonna do here?
