Obviously, their strength is in the guards. Those first round draft choices are impressive. That said, we're pretty strong there ourselves. Jarreau, Grimes, Sasser, and MARK cuts into that advantage more than most think. Ferocious D....Let's just say that Mitchell won't be getting to the hoop at will against us. : ) The main deal is need to keep the turnovers down and shoot at least 34 -35% + from three. To my way of thinking where UH wins this game though is inside. Our frontline has an edge here. Not in size, but Quickness/ toughness/purpose.... Coogs should own the boards and be able to work in there. Baylor's Achille 's Heel. At first, I thought we win a close game or get blown out. But, UH is capable of imposing their will on Baylor if enough of this goes right. Most likely a wire job, but... Eat em Up!
nobody outside of houston folks that follow this team are giving them a chance to win this game. that's just the way I like it and plays right into UH's mindset
Vegas has Baylor as a 5 point favorite, which I think is handicapped about right. I might have gone 6, but in a low scoring game 5 works. I think Baylor is the better team, but Sampson is the better coach, and in a low scoring defensive game anything can happen. Houston has to stay out of foul trouble to win, and they have to be a little better than they’ve been offensively. Can they do that? Hell yeah they can. Will they though? I honestly don’t know.
today should be a good day, one of the best days UH as seen in a long time. I remember shooting around in Hoffheinz thinking how nice it would be to have a good basketball team again. Defense won't be the problem offense will be. My main thing is finding ways to attack inside, Jarreau and Sasser have to initiate to the basket. The side to side action works against other teams but this Baylor team will score. If Houston is aggressive and playing towards the basket I have a positive feeling about today
And stay out of foul trouble while you are doing it. That will be key. Honestly, I don't know what to expect.
