That has nothing to do with playoff time. Have you seen what they’ve done against actual playoff teams and what their record is against them. That’s what matters.
Brooklyn is 14-7 against teams above .500, 3rd best in the league behind Utah and PHX...and this is with KD missing so much time and Kyrie in and out Philly is just 12-10, and Milwaukee is 9-10 for example...the Clippers are only 14-10...the Lakers 11-11, but they’ve been without AD and now Bron so take that one with a grain of salt BK is also the best clutch team in the league which bodes well for playoff basketball how they play against these bottom feeders isn’t that important...they will probably be blowouts once KD comes back because their offense will simply be way too overwhelming
They are actually 19-5 against winning teams with 2 of those losses coming from Memphis before the Harden trade, one loss to the Jazz with none of the big 3, and one loss to Dallas and Philly with only Harden. They have never lost to a team over 500 with 2 of their 3 stars. Their losses are because of effort/focus and letting scrubs go off on them.
This team is as over powered as the warriors. I think lma and bg are better than the ring chasers on gsw.
Nah you are the one with hyperbole insisting a 21 yr old rookie essentially is better than LMA and Blake Griffin. You are the one who said Capela's splits are "impressive" then come to find out his splits are 1 pt and 4 rebs. I'm using Hakeem as an example cuz thats the standard a 21 yr old big man has to be to beat out LMA. You are the one using hyperbole here not me.
In the playoffs? Nah. You have no proof as Claxton has never been to the playoffs. The only requirement to win a game is have more score than the opponent at the end it doesnt say anything about having a quota on offense or defense. Offense and defense dont matter as much as overall production on the floor does. You can argue Capela has been better than LMA defensively but in the playoffs when they meet LMA always went off and Capela couldnt do anything. Steph Curry has never been known as a defensive player but ask GSW if he better fit or Rajon Rondo is a better fit with KD and Klay. At the end of the day Griffin and LMA are vets and former multi allstars that counts for something. I expect them to outplay a 2nd year 21 yr old center cuz as good as Claxton is he aint better than Giannis and Jokic.
Ppl keep saying this, but it isn’t true. Ppl must think Capela was on the Rockets when we faced Portland. He wasn’t. LMA went off on Jones, Dwight and Asik ... for 30ppg. the one and only time Capela faced LMA in the playoffs was against the Spurs, Clint held him to 4pts in a Game 1 win on the road...and even thru 5 games ... when LMA was 15.8/8 on 15 shots/gm and Clint was 13/10/3 bpg. LMA’s best game, by far, was our Harden-quit-game Game 6 39pt blowout loss, which skewed his PPG up by 3pts. and in the regular season that year, in 4 games, LMA shot below 40% for 15.5ppg So, at 22, Clint did better than any rocket big against LMA. please recalibrate your memory ... Capela didn’t play against Portland LMA. That was Jones.
And he's tested his mettle against some of the top guards and wings in the league and shown he can lock them down. He gets to practice guarding Kevin Durant and James Harden every day. The speed of his development from raw draft prospect to what he is today is already shocking. And again, the Nets don't need much from him, they only need his perimeter defense. I'll make an easy prediction: Claxton will get minutes in the first and second round, and he will be effective in those minutes.
Harden leads the league in fourth quarter points and since the trade the nets are 18-3 in the clutch time situation with him running the show. Harden just averaged 27 points 12 assists 9 boards for the month of March. The Nets are 18-2 in the last 20 games without KD. . The man is the MVP
BK now tied with Philly for the 1 seed Philly and Milwaukee meet in the 2nd round while BK cruises to the ECF is looking likely
If that's the seeding they could honestly make the ECF without Durant, and quite possibly without Kyrie too.
