Boy, that was hard to watch and even harder to listen to. Seriously. What is up with Stone’s public speaking? It’s somehow gotten worse each press conference. Appearance and body language were off too. The best question was Alykhan asking Stone to define what a franchise cornerstone player is, and whether or not the Rockets have one on the roster. Of course, Stone decided to act completely oblivious and acted like he didn’t know.
Boy it's its Stone Sports Analytics Conference in this thread. The More he talks, the Morehe is missed.
Some people are smooth talkers, these are the snake oil salesman types that turn out to be total frauds, usually northeastern yankee types like Morey. Others are not great at public relations because their brains are wired differently, like a Elon Musk or Rafael Stone. They just get the job done, or as the haters like to put it, get lucky (over and over again). In the end they were geniuses to begin with and created their own luck.
It's on him too. I'm glad he admitted that the Oladipo move didn't work out, and that they had to move on from that. Not every GM would have said that. I'm not implying that Morey wouldn't have said the same thing as Stone.
How that Hopkins trade still hurts my soul. And for Bill frigging Obrien to use "analytics" as a justification. Oyyyy veyyyy
Houston offers Oladipo a contract extension that he turns down because he doesn’t want to be here. Stone “ He wasn’t in our plans” Lol I really hope people don’t fall for this crap. Sounds like he was butt hurt because Vic was the one who didn’t have them is his plans.
You believe BSPN? I know what you heard. That doesn't make it true. Do you ever get tired of looking silly?
I was just about to say the same thing. We have clearly identified the Stone CF burner account. Elon Musk Lmao
- Stone said the Rockets made the deal after determining that the fit with Oladipo, who will be a free agent this offseason, "wasn't a good one" So he basically admitted he sucks to be a GM on player evaluation? Nice!
