He's definitely a legit rotation players. But if Carmelo Anthony averaged what this guy averaged, you guys would say he's washed up and didn't deserve to be in the NBA. But Olynyk is already well liked around her after one game. The reaction is different with certain players
its also because the expectation and floor for each player is different. Kelly olynk is a rotation player who can disappear from games at times. Carmelo was a known all star/all nba/hof player who made it known he didn’t wanna play on the bench and never had previously. Olynk gives u 10-12 points he did his part. Carmelo comes and demands a starters role and shoots an inefficient 15 point game it’s entirely different
Olynyk has never been a superstar before either. By that same logic, it was assumed he was a scrub by quite a few here before he ever played for us. Wonder why that is?
Carmelo's leash was so ridiculously short because he was on a contender. Personally, I was upset when they just gave up on him like 15 games in. Nobody really cares about Olynyk, if he does well its a very nice surprise and at the end of the day it doesn't really matter because we are just trying to tank.

this guy was sensational for his first game, problem is we are tanking but there is next year if we get one of the top 4

I hate to say this after only 1 game and a half, but... Did we actually win the Oladipo trade on accident? Olynyk just seems like a better player than Victor at this point in their careers. My knee is jerking, but Kelly is balling and doing it when the game is still close and when it matters instead of putting up a bunch of empty calorie garbage time stats after the game is already decided which is exactly what Victor was doing. Bricking everything early and hitting everything late.
Anybody thinking Olynyk being good is an accident hasn't watched the heat in awhile. He has been good for years.
