Or, and this would have taken a lot of balls, what if they traded Oladipo right after the 6 game win streak when Wood went down. He was looking great then and we might have actually had a chance at Herro or something. It's just kind of annoying that they tried to play both sides when losing Harden should have 100% triggered a rebuild. If you're trying to rebuild and compete at the same time, you're just gonna end up passing up opportunities for either. It's good that at least for now they're committed to rebuilding but if they start signing vets this off season Imma be pissed.

One of the few positives about having a cheap owner is that Tilman's not going to want to overpay for veterans for a .300 basketball team no one wants to pay tickets to watch. So hopefully there's no unnecessary veteran signings in the offseason and they focus on getting younger and building through the draft.

With our luck, though, this will be the first time Tilman's actually willing to pony up the money for veteran signings.

Sorry...... but Daryl Morey wasn't the problem, the problem was and has been Tilman Fertitta. He was a new owner, so perhaps he will learn or maybe Patrick Fertitta will prove to be adept at it....... but the only people around the league that think Morey was the problem are the people that want to keep their employment with the Rockets.

There is a reason Morey had a job in no time at all.

You have any insight as to how Patrick was viewed other than it being weird the owner was pushing him on Morey? Is he viewed as being bright, does he contribute anything or is he seen as an annoyance

Everyone is looking at it as just what the Nets gave the Rockets, but the reality is that taking on Simmons likely keeps the Rockets out of the high lottery. If the Rockets are in the high lottery this year and next, the actual return for the Rockets is far higher. Now there are consequences obviously from a financial standpoint and the Rockets fans endure two really bad seasons instead of two mediocre ones. However, if the Rockets keep their pick this year, they are going to get an elite prospect as this draft is 4-5 deep. Next years draft is also very good at the top.

Yes, but that is for any rebuilding team. Stone will need to draft well.
