Or get a young talent / first round picks? Which pretty much all deals had for scrubs. Was our deal better than this? The Denver Nuggets are acquiring center JaVale McGee from the Cleveland Cavaliers for Isaiah Hartenstein and two future second-round picks, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Cleveland is acquiring a 2027 unprotected second-round pick and a 2023 second-round pick protected through No. 46, sources told Wojnarowski
Credit to Stone for two things.....original Harden trade was great and then he screwed it up by not keeping the best parts of it. Also, there is no doubt the KPJ trade was magnificent. The hiring of Silas and today’s trade are his low points.
Problem with the tank is that we’re basically flipping a coin and if it ends up as heads we hand the 5th pick to OKC.
Playoffs? I heavily disagree with that. We’d be better, but still below average. Would u rather be 10th in the West with Miami’s pick, or bottom of the West while possibly keeping our top 4 pick?
Levert is playing worse than Dipo in Indiana. Allen isnt gonna be the diff between tanking and making the playoffs. Rox would for sure hand their pick to OKC and prob still miss the playoffs. If the Allen trade didnt happen KPJ wouldnt be on the Rockets cuz his locker wouldnt have been taken. Thats the only reason he threw food around and thats the reason he got traded. So the Rox would be like 10th place, give OKC a lotto pick and also not have KPJ. Yay.
Folks are delusional, Playoffs lol - we want to keep our top 4 pick LeVert and Allen weren’t game changers on the NETS but supposed to made the Rockets competitive in the West
Yes, begging for mediocrity with albatross contracts that prevent future moves. There was a reason teams were not lining up to trade more.
You can argue whether Levert and Allen are stars, or have star potential. But one thing is for sure, we could easily flip them at this deadline for better assets than the poo-poo platter we got for Dipo.
People really mad about this? Rockets are in FULL rebuild mode. They are starting from the ground up. They want a top 3 pick and will build from there. Expect this for the next 3-4 years. We'll see how Stone looks when he drafts, until, they on snooze mode.
I expected even less. I made up my mind yesterday that I didn't want Norm Powell or anyone else in return for Oladipo. A young player would only decrease the chances of acquiring a top 4 pick despite it's uncertainty.
There's a difference between tanking, and being woeful through sheer incompetence unfortunately. This organisation and front office do not get the credit of a pass by saying they're tanking. They aren't tanking, they're actively trying to win games. They are pathetic at what they do and were seeing the outcome of that. This rollercoaster ride down had no breaks with commander Tilman. The most efficient sabatuer I've ever seen.
We are trying to lose. Wtf are Allen and Lavert gonna do for this franchise long term? Nothing. They aren’t anywhere close to stars or foundational pieces.
sure and we might have been able to trade LeVert and Allen for multiple firsts . or keep them and try to make the playoffs next year both seem like better situations .
Allen is an expiring and Levert is playing like trash. Rox already got a first for Allen. Levert has a health condition Nets had to pay Indiana a pick to take him you think he gonna be worth multiple firsts? Just stop.
Even if he messed up on Dipo it doesn't take away the other moves he made. KPJ, Kmart Jr and Wood for basically nothing. Trading WB for Wall. The Nets deal over Simmons and trash. Stone did a good job so far just stop.
