So, basically it’s what I expected. I actually didn’t think they would trade him. I thought they would hold him and let him walk to save money. They did slightly better getting the pick swap, but neither of those guys they got back will be here next season, so it’s essentially the same thing. We got penny pinched by the ****ing owner. Again!
Les Alexander simply let Morey do his stuff. I guess he'd nudge him here or there but, he left him be, to constantly improving the team for better or for worse. Seems like Tilman is strapped financially, his fortune is tied so heavily with Casinos and dine-in restaurants, two business that have taken a pounding after the pandemic. Seems I'd read he was heavily leveraged even before the pandemic. And so the Rockets fans now know what it feels like to have a debt ridden billionaire owner..... The Roller coaster will leave a lot of fans puking for the rest of the ride.
Because you could have moved him at the trade deadline? There's a reason why Indiana took LaVert without batting an eye in exchange for Oladipo. One because they tried to trade him but no one bit until Stoney did and two they knew they were getting back the better player in that trade. Even if you don't like Caris Stone could have moved him during the deadline for at least a protected 1st rounder.
No one who watched Dipo played for the Pacers would have thought Dipo would fetch a good return comes the deadline. The Houston version of Dipo was even worse.
Watch these idiots draft 3 more midgets that can't shoot in the first round. LMAO...I'm fully prepared for more stupidity.
The only thing I can see is that Oladipo was a swing for the fences option with our 2021 pick situation in mind. If Oladipo/Wood/Wall played to their max potential (and were healthy) we would be a playoff team. If not, we possibly get a top 4 pick. If you have Levert you're probably not good enough to make the playoffs but not bad enough to have a chance at a top 4 pick.
Yea.... I feel like cutting salary/saving money was the overriding goal of an owner who has seen his business empire of restaurants, hotels, and casinos plummet due to Covid.
Fans can't see that Rafy is guaranteeing higher picks in this years draft. You have to ask yourself what the price is on draft day to move up 5-10 spots...
So Stone got us 3 more first rounders and 3 pick swaps with the Nets trade while we suck enough to maybe keep our pick this year. You wanted Simmons to lead us all the way to the 9th seed?
yes, it is...if we draft a bust then it goes without saying that we’re screwed...it’s a gamble, but it’s one worth taking if the ownership and front office are just terrible, and they’re out here drafting busts with top 4 picks, then we’re just fcked for the future...welcome to the Houston Timberwolves or Houston Kings
Thank you for saving me the time of having to post that. Tilman's goal was to dump salary plain and simple. If the deal was about getting young talent we would have kept Jared Allan and Lavert. This rebuild is going to painfull.
