Wasn’t really in on Gordon. He’s a good player but not the direction I want to go. Hopefully anyone we acquire will be 23 and under with upside or frps.
really interesting get for the Nuggets though. Jokic could really help elevate Gordon's game and impact, IMHO.
This would essentially mean MPJ would want out soon. They can't have 4 ball dominant players. The Rockets should do everything to get MPJ here.
Really good trade for Denver.... they needed to add a multi use defender than can also kill you with his athleticism.
Nice. I was getting annoyed at their losing hurting Jokic's chances at a well-deserved MVP. They kinda re-created last year's squad hoping their experience from the WCFs will push them over the hump or at least land them back in the WCF.
Gordon is super overrated here. The average fan thinks Gordon is an under the radar talent because he puts up numbers (kind of) and doesn't get much publicity (or wins). Let's be honest, the average fan probably feels cool that they know who he is but their friends don't. He doesn't help teams win. BUT... That athleticism moving around on the baseline with Jokic in the high-post, oh lawd, it's perfection.
good move for the Nuggets as he can kind of help fill jerami grants role who I think they have really missed.
I wouldn't call Gordon ball dominant. He's never taken more than 15 shots a game and this year, he's attempted less than 12. That is less than Eric Gordon. He's more of a finisher that needs a good playmaker to help facilitate his offense.
Nuggets' Ownership Comfortable Paying Luxury Tax, More Concerned With Repeater Tax The Denver Nuggets have historically avoided paying the luxury tax, but sources tell Zach Lowe of ESPN that ownership is willing to pay it "down the line for a contender." The Nuggets are more averse to paying the repeater tax, but they won't be in danger of that in the immediate future. Denver already has Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray on max contract with Michael Porter Jr. potentially joining them on a lucrative extension and it will likely take a contract above $20 million per year to retain Aaron Gordon. The Nuggets essentially replaced Jerami Grant with Gordon, who gives them more timetable flexibility in terms of salary and the tax.
