he’s an intriguing player and only 24. I worry about his defense but he’s a really good shooter with length. we only get him for 1 more year though. If he has a good year he’s the kind of guy who could be moved for a kings ransom at the deadline, but I suspect we’d be about signing him long term. I’d need to see him play more to have a more informed opinion. No trading draft picks though.
Want to have players that can fit with the team going past this year, or even collect a sign and trade asset. Lauri is good, but we gon get killed in the paint. Don’t personally like the fit, just explaining why we would target “better” players.
The chances of us getting something valuable out of a SnT deal is very slim, I much prefer a pick to a pending FA.
Seems like Stone is gonna squeeze every last ounce out of this trade deadline dammit. Surgery on my other eye tomorrow, I'm going to be F5ing and trying to read a blurry screen. Such is the life of a fan...
And he has experience in the five out: https://www.bleachernation.com/bull...y-look-a-lot-better-if-he-were-used-properly/
If you could re-sign Markkanen in the offseason without breaking the bank, I can get on board with that swap. He's younger than Gordon, is a better shooter and hasn't come out and said he wouldn't want to play for a rebuilding franchise. I agree Gordon is the better fit, but Houston just needs to accumulate young talent, period. Markkanen would immediately become the second best young prospect on the team and make for a deadly offensive front court with Wood. Sure, they'll struggle defensively, but this team's not winning games for a couple of years anyway. Just keep adding young talent and worry about fit later.
