Jeriome Robertson still has the magic touch

I was going to start a thread awhile back after he made his debut with the Indians. It was ugly.

Jeriome Robertson allowed 10 runs -- eight earned -- in three innings for Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday.
It looks like Robertson could stay in the minors for a little while.

 

Meanwhile, Willy Taveras is ripping up AA.

Here's to hoping we just ripped a top of the order CF for a junk throwing lefty without control.

 

Apparently he does have the magic tough. 2 wins with that era? What contract with the devil did he sign to have that kind of luck?

 

I think he promised the devil that he could sleep with his sister as long as the Lord of Lies kept supplying wins.

Jeriome's sister doesn't have a problem with it. You know how those California girls are.

 

The same one that got him 15 wins last year. Tim Redding is collateral.

 

Looks good so far.

I know Bob Knepper.

Bob Knepper was a friend of mine.

And you Mr. Robertson, are no Bob Knepper.

 

If those 15 wins were so important...

...Robertson wouldn't be in the minors for another team.

Taveras is killing the Texas League.

 

Unfortunately, the official Round Rock Express webpage doesn't show batting statistics in splits. I am curious to see how the switch hitting experiment is going with Tavares.

 

17 steals? That's insane, how many games has he played?

 

26 games. 3 caught stealing. If he's on first base, he's on second base.

 

Very impressive, I can't wait for him to come up.

 

What's crazy- he's not even leading our system in SB.

Josh Anderson has 20 steals through 26 games at Lexington with only 1 caught stealing! He's also hitting .333, and leading the league in runs scored.

Between those 2, Burke (who has 10 steals in AAA so far), and Everett, plus guys like Jimerson and Mike Rodriguez the Astros seemed to have added speed in the "speed" positions (2B/SS, and CF) for the coming generations.

 

They scrapped it...he's batting right-handed exclusively.

 

Taveras has 17 steals in 27 games, he's been caught three times. You think that's good? We have a guy a Lexington (A) who's hitting .355 with 23 SBs in 27 games, been caught only once.
