No loss at all on his part https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...g-gives-him-a-path-to-free-agency-after-2021/
Don't like how Caserio got here, but this guy is busting his ass. I'm very happy with the efforts. Man it's nice to have a football guy making sensible football moves again. Not saying he's perfect but this dude had a plan.
He made it possible for the Texans to cut him after next year with no loss to them. That is a loss if he wants to continue to play football and he has a bad year.
He was a director of player personnel for years. They primarily deal with the players already in the NFL, so he has studied these guys.
Exactly. The route here was weird, but the dude is earning that trust and making moves. Competency is refreshing.
The last two years on his deal 2022 & 2023 were non-guaranteed, so they could've cut him next year regardless, now he has certainty and motivation to play for a new contract.
Love what Caserio is doing. All these signings ensures that players will have to compete for their jobs and that hopefully gets the best effort out of the players (even though they can't all make the team).
