Lol beat the 6 worse teams in the league. It was obvious after trading Harden we should tank. Harden been carrying scrubs for 8 years... And our fans out here flaming him for coming up short with this type of talent.. He masked all of our issues because he was the greatest offensive player we've ever seen.

They didn't have as many first round picks to trade so they couldn't have matched the offer regardless. They spent some draft capital on the Horford trade..

I was all in on the keeping Caris and Allen train. Now, I’m not so sure. Without trading Allen, we don’t land KPJ (Price got KPJ’s locker). Caris has been pretty inefficient like Oladipo. I’ll reserve judgment about Caris until I see what we get for Dipo.

You could even expand this trade and give Miami Lowry/Oladipo. I love trading deadline day, it's like christmas for me.

Not really a realistic trade though with all the pieces the Heat would have to give up.

    Has Okungwu improved his 3ball?

Love his defense, physicality and explosiveness - especially on D.

But his comp is Tristan Thompson or a mini Capela.

He fits in our switch defense but how does he fit in our 5 out?

The Woj tweet jives with what @ch44 reported yesterday which was that there was a healthy market for Oladipo.

I wonder if the diminishing number of sellers right now is helping Dipo's worth. Going into the deadline we were discussing major player movement - lowry, collins, gordon, etc. Now it looks like many of those players aren't going to get traded. Gordon has ruined his own market and Orlando probably isn't interested in taking back older players and late first rounders for one of their most coveted players. He has another year on his contract and they're under no pressure to trade him frankly. Collins may still get traded, but I'm not sure. The hawks may try to do an S&T after the season's over I supposed. I don't see Lowry getting traded as few teams are willing to give the ransom the Raptors want to part with him.

Not only that, but we're seeing a number of other players initially rumored to be on the block basically move off of it. Barnes is probably not getting moved. Ball is not attractive at all and is reportedly looking for a 20M/year extension.

In any case, I think we'll see that waiting until the deadline is a good move. If I'm the rockets, I dont play Oladipo next game (don't want to risk injury) and take the highest bidder's offer.

You’ll have to yell, he probably doesn’t read us, and he can’t hear you because he’s CHEWING.

First, Tilman wanted Morey to "get the deal done" and didn't seem all that concerned at the cost associated.

Morey did the best he could under the situation negotiating with an owner wanting the deal done basically immediately.

Keep in mind that Morey did not want to do the trade at all, he knew it was a mistake just like MDA did.

The trade was a terrible trade and there is a 50% chance it costs us a pick in the 5-9 range of the lottery..... but the reason the pick isn't as highly protected for 2021 compared to later years is because Morey did not think we would be this bad this soon.

I think we all would agree being a successful GM is hard. GM's are dealing with players that are people and people get hurt, give different effort levels and have different motivations.... yet a GM is supposed to take all of this into account, then there is the salary cap, evaluation of players, dealing with agents and coaches and players........ doing that and balancing a family life is EXTREMELY hard..... but add an owner like Fertitta on top of that? I can understand why Daryl left.

i like the Bojan + Reddish deal. If they somehow gave up a pick too jeez.

It's too bad Eric Gordon got hurt cuz shopping him would have been nice.

Can anyone enlighten me on this?

Is it that you can't trade injured players, or is it that injured players would automatically fail whatever physical the NBA requires?

You will probably disagree with me at this point .

but talent waaaay over fit right now .

since wood can shoot you can play them together . Sure the offensive ceiling is lower than if he could already shoot himself , but if he was making great progress on his offense I don’t think he’d be available.

imo he just needs a couple of moves . If he can get a respectable baby hook (like clint) and work on a 10-15 footer , then.. your offense may be prehistoric, but the D upside is smothering and worth it .

I’ve like what I’ve seen from DJ while he was here too .

Regardless , take a flyer on this guy and at worst he’s your backup C next year .

If you keep DJ at a reasonable price you go into next year with Tate , KPJ , wood , Gordon , this guy , KMJ , and unfortunately... wall . Then if you’re getting bogdanovic too that’s not half bad .

good depth at the 4/5 , the 1-3 . Maybe we get lucky with the draft too .

that’s a team with a good mix of upside and a vet or two . Plus assets

if we find the right pieces for oladipo it can make a huge difference in our outlook going forward .

It’s unfortunate we are bad this year with OKC having some of our outcomes . Next year , even tho you have your pick , I don’t think you want to be bad .

being good (ish) raises the value of all your guys and helps players develop .

I don’t think we will be contending for a
Title . But realistically that’s only 5 teams a year right ? There is a point to trying lol

Yep, it's Miami that is running out of time to build a contender, not us.
