    If only.

But rebuilding team unlikely to give up 2 FRP, let alone 4.

To move away from the toxic Wall it would be wise. Gordon is better than what we might get with most of the low picks anyway. Flyers on Bamba and Knox has value as well. Just an opinion. The age grouping is to Wood.

The most important thing this trade does is save a lot of money.

It would also put us on the treadmill of mediocrity. Not owning our own picks it’s a better place than we are now.

No it's not as a rebuilding team you dont wanna lose your draft picks. Just remeber we still owe picks and swaps to OKC cant give up the draft capital we got for Harden for a less than Giannis type of player locked to a 5 yr deal.

It’s good to dream a “Giannis type” isn’t happening with or without the draft. The proposed deal does keeps all of ours and the Nets picks. Bottoming out doesn’t guarantee a player better than the already proven Aaron Gordon. The draft is filled with bust and potential that never happens. Plus where the picks are is mid to low rounders. The chance of the Detroit pick becoming a SRP is very high. IMO, moving on from Wall with Gordon is a winning proposal. Wall has already proven he is not willing to work with the team’s development. We also get bird rights and looks at some high draft choices that haven’t worked out. So it’s like redrafting the already drafted with the hope of unlocking the potential that is already there plus the player knows his clock is clicking making him more than coachable.

First time he is playing point forward for Magic.

Remember Uncle Jeff becoming a 40% 3P shooter when he played in MDA 5 out offense.

Jeff was like AG before that, career 32% from 3P.

I'm great with this but Magic already have 2 young PG, so likely they'd prefer Knox instead.

And Ntilikina is better defender than Knox anyway.

Aaron Gordon could set this franchise back 5-10 years or so. Why not just embrace the tank instead of becoming a treadmill team?

if by set back 5-10 years you mean turn us into the 2011 rockets I’ll take it :)

embracing the tank sucks . Maybe you get lucky on the other end . But , not only is there a chance your draftee isn’t great .. but also this year we might not even have our own pick .

we Do own picks in 2022 and 23 .

do you really wanna see 20 win teams the next two years (in addition to this one)!?

say we get good players in 2022 and 23 , it will still be years before they are all-star caliber guys . Furthermore , our draft picks the next 3 years after that are subject to being taken by OKC .

imo you’ve gotta compete somewhat . Idk if I’m on board with a gordon trade , it depends on the price . But , you have to try to build the value of guys on your team , Bring in lottery tickets and reclamation projects etc

Full on embracing the tank in 22 and 23 will not be fun .

Might be harder to get off the tank than the treadmill .

How would he set us back? If anything, you can think of it as an additional asset that we would have for another year. He may turn out to be a great fit with our future core, nothing wrong with that. Realistically, it looks like the Rockets are looking for a short window of rebuilding.

I like you think this team is capable of winning enough games to even treamill. We are likely to break the longest losing streak ever, swapping Dipo and Gordon will not change a single thing

Because the odds are you land in an endless cycle of busts and developing young talent only for them to leave for big market teams? Do you really want to endure 5 years of the last 20 games?

Gordon is becoming so underrated he’s overrated. If he had some transcendent unlockable superstar ability it would have manifested itself in flashes by now. He’s had every opportunity to seize a bigger role on offense, it’s not like Harden playing behind KD and Durant. So whatever the asking price for him is getting to, it sounds like the demand is so high that the price will be bad for whichever team acquires him. Not to mention, has to pay him.

I just don't think Aaron Gordon is the guy you commit big long term money to at this stage of a rebuild, assuming you re-sign him. If you don't want to re-sign him, then you sure as **** shouldn't give up future assets for him.
