I admit i dont watch enough of Gordon to say this with full confidence but i dont think he has the kind of mobility to chase perimeter defenders around all over the court. The ideal body type for 4s is 6'7-6'9, 210-225 pounds with crazy wingspan. Like you said, his body type is more similar to Draymond, Montraz then say Covington, Ariza.

This is the new prototype for modern NBA 4. Its speed over strength. Length over power.

Gordon is closer to 6'8, 240

    AG is 6'8, 235, 7'0 wingspan.

AG is elite iso defender, can defend 1-5.

    AG shooting 40% from 3P.

AG averaging +6 AST since taking over point forward duties with Magic.

AG is starting 4, small ball 5.

    AG only 25.

I see Gordon as more of a Jeff Green type. His mobility isn't fast enough to chase perimeter players. His 3point shot isn't good enough to be a full time floor spacer. Once he transition to a 5, his production would explode.

Why can’t we just get a real center?

He's been played at small forward for a large chunk of his career. You have no idea how misused he's been. He's a 4. He's fast enough to switch onto guards and strong enough to get switched onto centers. He would be the starting 4 next to Wood and the small ball 5 in specific units. I've noticed Silas keeps going small even though the personnel isn't there. I have a huge suspicion he's pushing for AG. Getting Augustin is another indicator, they have interest. Those two have a relationship.

Would you prefer AG to Evan Mobley?

I mentioned this before but the deal should be Aaron Gordon for..Eric Gordon and House. Stone can throw in a first if he wants. We hold onto Vic and let his ass leave via free agency. Orlando can use EG moreso than Vic because he's an easier player to fit around Fultz (when he comes back) and their dozens of centers and you have an insurance in case Fournier leaves via free agency.

    2021-2022 Salaries:

    Wall: $44 million
    AG: $16 million
    Wood: $13.67
    DJ Augustin: $7
    Porter: $1.8
    Martin: $1.5
    Tate: $1.5

That's about $86 million in salaries earmarked for next season. Stone can fill in the rest of the roster with vet minimums and rookies. This also gives us a chance to absorb another team's bad contract in exchange for unprotected 1sts.

That's because you haven't been paying attention.

That's okay, much of CF hasn't.

There is a reason that AG was Stone's 1st target for Russ trade.

There is reason AG was Stone's target in Dipo trade.

There is reason AG is Stone's focus in Dipo trade.

    1. I dont have numbers to back up my claim and i fully admit i dont watch alot of Gordon's game. But from the eye test(which is admittedly not reliable) he moves more like a big than a wing player. I have doubts about his ability to guard the perimter full time in the modern NBA game.

    2. He is shooting 40% from 3 this year. On a very small 23 game sample size and only 4.4 attempts a game. He shot 30% last year from 3 and 32% for his career. Most importantly he has been a poor FT shooter throughout his career. FT% is the best indicator of a player's actual shooting ability. Gordon is hitting 62% from FT this year and under 70% for his career. He is not shooter. That is irrefutable.

    3. His assist number is trending up, thats good to see. Like i said he's a poor man's Blake Griffin. He's a big with some playmaking ability.

    4. True. I thought he was older.

Damn Oladipo needs to rest for tonight’s game. Can’t even imagine him having an injury at this critical juncture.
