If Harden ends up winning a ring in BK this year as their best player, then did he fail us, or did our franchise fail him? I see it as being the latter. I think T-Mac and Yao failed us as their bodies failed them, but Harden did not fail us, our franchise and owner failed him.
Harden is paired with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving - what JH does or does not accomplish as a Net cannot be equated to what might of happened (or didn't happen) as a Rocket. It's a different group of players and it's easy to argue the KD and KI are vastly better than any teammates he had as a Rocket.
Our owner failed him for failing to allow discipline to happen... especially in allowing Harden play general manager.
Do you really think discipline was an issue? The issue was Tilman being too cheap to keep or replace Ariza with someone good. The issue was Tilman pushing through the CP3 to Westbrook trade. The issue was Tilman trading picks for LTS instead of going all in for a top flight player. Do you know how much Brooklyn is spending in luxury taxes this year? Hint it's more than the Rockets have paid in luxury taxes since the 80's combined.
