I jumped into Top Shot a couple weeks ago and am having a blast. Without a doubt it is a growing platform experiencing growing pains, but as someone interested in markets/crypto and grew up collecting cards, Top Shot was made for me. Anyone else enjoying this? Who is sitting on the S1 Legendary Lebrons?
Sign up and then typically register for a lottery fifteen minutes before the deadline. If they pull your number, you get a pack. Now, there's so many users, the website has crashed when I've tried to get in line.
2017 all the experience investors telling people to stay out of shitcoins unless you know how to invest in crypto. 4 years later I sound like a boomer trying to explain to these kids that if your website is crashing, you dont need crypto. Its just a bunch of guys running a server trading 'cool' things and handing out useless tokens. World of Warcraft has been doing it for years.
I’ve been lucky enough to snag three packs. It’s the most no-brainer thing I buy every week. The packs are cheap and my pulls were immediately worth 5-20x what I paid. If you’re buying five figure Zions and you’re not wealthy then yeah worry about getting rugged. But buying packs is pretty neat and potentially lucrative.
the special packs I think have run 99-250, the recent all star pack was 229. But the normal packs are $9-14. The common packs are still valuable. I have a common jokic that I could sell rn for 450-900.
common $9-$14 Rare $200 Legendary $1K It’s a lotto system in which ~15-20% of people get a pack, 1 per person, and the contents are paying significant multiples on pack cost. I’ve yet to land a pack, but have been trading on the open market and it’s a good time. Stay within your budget and it’s just entertainment like anything else.
how did you watch this? I have little idea how the collectable Moments work, but I assumed there is restricted freedom of showing them around ... Is an account on their site all you need, or can unregistered visitors see them? I could see the need to get a one-viewing invite, too. Which is the way Pornhub Top Shot would do their Moments ...
