I can't wait for a vacation. That being said, I will wait until after summer, and I have been vaccinated and a big majority of others have too.
I've been talking with people about travel as this is the longest in my adult life I've never traveled very far. I haven't been on a plane since Jan. 1, 2021. Talking to my dad in HK he's saying don't even bother trying to come and visit until Christmas. I'm already thinking though about travelling as soon as Memorial day weekend. I'm gambling that I can get vaccinated by the end of April.
Part of me wants to do that, but I think I will wait a year and take a very very long vacation mask free and worry free.
Abbott and his fellow Republicans will start blaming any Covid surge that may come from lifting all restrictions on immigrants, but don't listen to their nonsense. They always shift the blame elsewhere when they make bad decisions. Greg Abbott, The USA has 90,678 Covid cases per million, and the southern border isn't what we should worry about where Covid is concerned. Our borders from within our own country have much higher Covid cases per million than Mexico and Central America. Cases per million: Texas 94,329, Oklahoma 109,375 Arkansas 108,377, Louisiana 94,124, New Mexico 89,892 Southern Border: Mexico 16,690, Honduras 17,866, Guatemala 10,085, El Salvador 9,607, Nicaragua 979 Don't point fingers south of our border after you lifted all restrictions on bars and masks right before spring break if we see a surge. You decided to let thousands of spring breakers come down here and fill bars at max capacity, and gather in mask free crowds. March Madness takes a whole new meaning now when the majority of US citizens haven't been vaccinated yet and you decide to let the parties and gatherings and resurgence of Covid spreading begin.
Why on earth would someone walk up to a place that sells masks and not wear a mask? Ugh. I had some lady walk right up next to me sorting through masks while gabbing and singing on her phone the whole time, spreading her germs all over me and the masks. What's wrong with people? Thank you Abbott for allowing people to spread their germs and not give a damn about anyone around them.
A lot of them are almost terminally dumb. I mean, if breathing was not an autonomous activity, they would literally forget and die.
Just shopped at the garden center at Lowes. Every single person in there was wearing a mask except one. Guess what her T-Shirt said? "The Lord Jesus is my Savior. I voted for Trump." I had to bite my lip from giving her my condolences.
In Massachusetts I encountered my first Individual who had to be told to go back outside and find a mask and it was while waiting in line to pick up my takeout order from BonChon. Dude was told twice and his first excuse was he's just picking up a take out order but the take out order line was pretty long which means you had to be inside for 5 minutes or so. He gave in on the third request but the funny part was a dude standing next to me was conversing with him on his way out and was like "ya this is stupid, libtards are crazy". That's the "craziest" interaction I have had with masks in Massachusetts. It seems like people up here are far more cooperative. Never had issues with masks outside that one incident and it was a relatively minor one.
You can socially distance at the Rockets game You have the same chance of getting COVID as another team getting Victor Oladipo @Os Trigonum @Ziggy @Reeko @J.R.
Wouldn't you know it, "Neanderthal Thinking" with the win....but according to most Lefty lunatics on here, TX was reckless in lifting the mandates and TX also sucks at vaccine distribution. https://www.foxnews.com/us/texas-covid-numbers-decrease-17-days-after-mask-other-restrictions-lifted
I’m shocked that we haven’t had a big upswing in cases but also glad that it appears to have not impacted anything yet. Perhaps due to the diligence of folks still practicing social distancing and wearing masks with a mixture of vaccines and people with current antibodies. Either way, pleasant and very surprising results so far and happy for that.
First off cases don't immediately rise or drop following changes to restrictions. About two weeks is when we should start seeing changes in numbers so this week is something to look at. In fact I'm looking at the Texas dashboard right now and there is a slight uptick in the 7 day average in the last two days. See my latest post in the D&D Coronavirus thread. Harris County and the US as whole has nothing to be proud of when it comes to dealing with this disease.
If he paid even an ounce of attention last June, he probably knows that, but is so deep in denial of common sense and the history of how that happened he isn't capable of agreeing on facts. It won't only spread in Texas though. A big majority of the Maskless spring breakers here and in Florida will carry it back to other states.
