Would two picks in the 20’s and Wood be good enough for a top 5 pick?

Another added benefit to the trade: even with everything we were able to get back, we were able to trade PJ to a situation that he'd actually want to be in. Can't underestimate racking up some good will for a franchise that was dangerously low on it.

Exactly. There are plenty of examples of late first round steals that turn into stars. Putting yourself in that mix is worth it. And like you said, who knows what could happen in a year or two.

Unfortunately, there is a group on this site that will crap on every move that Stone makes because they are Daryl Morey fanboys.

There is no other reason to be negative about this deal.

PJ isn’t washed up yet....but he ain’t far.

I know, some of them are the same people that liked the Brooklyn trade. For Brooklyn to be bad 3 superstars need to leave, for Milwaukee only 1 needs to leave before the descend. Also, the Rockets ill be bad as long as we have Wall, saving the value of our assets for when we're ready to compete is big. I hope we trade Portland's 1st for assets in 23 as well.

That he is but they’ll still knock the nets off.

And I don’t like throwing the soft label to just anyone - Someone like Justin Patton is soft. There’s levels to this

So the pick for the bucks is unprotected this year? And want them to lose to Philly tonight and for the rest of the season?

Love the DJ Wilson pickup. If the picks end up working out in our favor, this will be a pretty nice haul.

Trading a top 3 pick in the second round for the bottom 3 pick in the first round is a trade that you lost value.

Any contenders will love to give you their late first round pick for a top 3 pick in the second round, they may even offer their second round pick to do so.

In fact, if you will read the details of the trade "

"Houston also gets right to swap its 2021 second-round pick for Milwaukee's FRP."

This is not a outright pick for pick trade, Houston gets the "right to swap".

So assuming the extreme case that could happen :

That Milwaukee has the best record in the NBA this year and the Rockets ended up with the worst record, I guarantee the Rockets will not swap their first pick of the second round for a last pick of the first round.
