Whew! I suppose my latent feeling of non-specific guilt about this made me more prone to think I was actually being criticized, but I was pretty offended there for a bit... I do, however have some practical sympathy for a guy who is come onto by a gilr who looks like she's 21, says she's 21, and is later charged because it turns out she's 15. Haven't experienced it myself, but what is the guy's option, supposing he's not opposed to casual sex? Ask for 3 pieces of I.D.?
That's not exactly the best logic. If you leave the front door to your house open and you get robbed, is it your fault for doing that or the criminal's fault for robbing you? How women are viewed is predicated completely by men. We could choose to view women differently if we wanted. We just choose not to. I'm not saying I don't understand. I'm just saying we shouldn't be surprised if women feel threatened by the old men leering at young girls no matter how they dress.
that's exactly right...and for all the cries for sympathy from men ("what are we supposed to do?? show some self-restraint??) there is the equal cry from these girls saying, "this is what our society expects of us" neither of them are very good arguments in my view.
In honor of your 18th birthday (tomorrow) I present to the BBS provocative photos of Jaimie Lee Curtis, Rosie O'donell, Boy George, and Barbara Streisand. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Oh and guys, always remember: And why not: sterile yet?
Acting on the attraction or even leering is not what she was objecting to, nor what I was addressing. She said it was creepy knowing what men "think". Therein lies the difficulty, as far as I see it. I do have some practical sympathyy for men in the situation I outlined, but it is still their responsibility, however unfari, and the law must err on that side rather than the other, IMO.
Mr. Mooch...are you cetain that the top right hand pic is JLC? Similar ( unbelievable) bod, and short hair, but facialy looks different to me.
Ann, It's called talkin' ****. She is an attractive chick irrespective of her age. I am quite sure that all of us adults would treat her like her age dictates whether she was 15, 16, 17, or 20.
Oh OK, so drapg was saying that Another Brother looks better than Lindsay Lohan and Lindsay Lohan looks better than Hilary Duff, OK got it!
A friend of mine said....once there's grass on the pitch...the game's on. But of course, that is not what I think...but on the other hand - I am 32 now (ugh)...and I really can't tell if a girl/woman is 20 or 25 or 28 sometimes. Is 20 still ok? 19?
Exactly. Some of us older folks, Ann, are just having some fun. (just don't ask me about my lifestyle when I was Lindsay Lohan's age!)
Hey now, there is NOTHING wrong with a little window shopping. Good God, All these old dudes going through mid-life crisises just because some 17 year old broad has above average sweater puppets. BEHOLD THEM FROM A DISTANCE AND INDULGE THINE MEDIEVAL URGES FROM AFAR.
True Lies wasn't made 20 years ago her body was damn hot in that movie as far as I recall. Byt yeahh she probably is a little old but hey it couldn't hurt
