I agree with you. I see Miami acquiring one or the other but not both. Who knows? Maybe Miami leaked the info to goose Stone about Tucker. Yes, thank you for the other fan's honest perspective and for not being a mongoloid Lakers fan, the kind that trash-talks (yells) in an unfriendly arena as if wanting to get a major beatdown walking to his car after the game! (Yes, personal experience. I wanted to.......so badly.)
I find the Ariza rumors very surprising. It's not just the age with him (though being 35 isn't a small thing for a guy whose age started showing on the court three years ago). He's also getting paid almost 13M and hasn't played on the court in over a year. Asking a guy who hasn't been on the court in over a year to come in and be a real contributor to a team with championship aspirations is a tall order, and by this point most players at his position have passed him by in speed, athleticism, and ability. In 2017 and 2018 we'd often match Ariza up against players like Durant and Lebron. Who can honestly say that he's ready to hold down that matchup now? Or even less than that, that he can hang with a Joe Harris, Danilo Galinari, Khris Middleton, Gordon Hayward, or Jason Tatum? I wouldn't want to roll that dice. If he was a FA or a low-priced player who I could acquire with very little going out, then maybe. But I don't see the appeal and it really feels more like dumpster diving than getting the resources needed to compete for a championship.
Interesting that the Rockets want a SG for Oladipo. If the Knicks are the frontrunners...RJ Barrett?? 2027??? LOL
Sorry, but I'm confused by this reply. You know I'm not pushing for the Heat to acquire Ariza and Tucker, right? I'm on the other side of that debate—it helps them marginally, but they'd benefit far more from an offensive creator or a two-way player than another defensive-minded guy.
He probably won't be in game shape until they get to the playoffs. He wasn't that bad last year with the Blazers (pre bubble of course).
LOL. I didn't even know OKC had Ariza's rights now. OKC is just trading paper at this point. I don't even know who suits up for them to play games these days.
i thought I was replying to someone else - who brought up how ariza and tucker defended for the rockets in the post season against the warriors and how that in 2021 may as well have been 15 years ago
This is like buying a used cassette at a garage sale and selling it on ebay for $.50 It hardly seems worth the effort, but I guess the OKC front office doesn't have much else to do while they wait to make their 37 first round picks in the draft.
Good move for both teams . Ariza wouldn’t have fetched much from anyone . Meyerland is injured and unlike our Houston Meyerland isn’t friendly to Jews you might still try to get tucker or oladipo. And you lost 1 tradable contract , but you still have others I think . Ariza could be OK . And maybe OKC is a place that he can be sheltered in .
Good deal for OKC. Controversy aside, Leonard is not a bad player and is very serviceable as an athletic big man that can shoot decently from deep.
