Trump to declare national emergency to build border wall

If biden doesn't get the southern border under control it will ruin his entire presidency. With his administration beating their covid dead by 3 months and a massive stimulus which will have our economy ROARING. The ONLY thing the gop is holding on to is that the border crisis gets worst. With the hottest economy in the world this upcoming year the crisis will get much worse.

Biden needs to suck up his ego and revert back to the policy of making them apply in Mexico. Allowing unaccompanied minors to enter as they apply will literally literally millions of people to our border. It will be a fox news wish list. The democrats got smoked in 2014 because of DACA.

Biden has the opportunity to be a transformative president and go down in history as one of the most popular in our lifetime. I hope he doesn't **** it all up by having a bigger crisis. There's no political points by allowing these dumb policies in the first place. Look how many Hispanics voted for trump because he gave them stimulus and a good economy even though he tried deporting them and recend DACA.

We will soon have an actual national emergency (not like the bullshit trump promoted as one) at our borders if we don't fix it ASAP

those cental american government are crooked and corrupt and have no incentive to help us at this time. Its in their interest that the crisis gets worst so they can get more aid and have more leverage over the administration. The situation will only get much worst to the point where it will be more embarrassing to reverse course then rather then it is now. Mayorkas is claiming that there is no emergency at the border even when democratic senators are claiming there is.

 

So the aid money needs restriction and oversight. I would absolutely support that.

 

Walls work. Guns too. Why else is the capitol surrounded by them? Remember that.

Biden needs to suck up his ego and not allow any more unaccompanied children into the usa ASAP. Work with the Mexican government and set up processing facilities a few hundred miles from the border and make all refuges appy there and give them priority over those who apply at the border. The only solution is to deter them coming to the border. We need to get people away from the border ASAP. Setting up processing facilities alongside the border but inside Mexico is the best case scenario.

Why are they not doing this already?

Because thats not going to stop the massive influx of people coming to the border? You need to provide feasible solutions people can see in person. The only solution to this crisis is to open up processing facilities AWAY from the border. People are going to keep coming no matter what Biden says simply due to the fact how crazy how our economy will be in the next few years. We need to stop processing asylum cases at the border

his ego of accepting that reversing the Trump policy is not good policy. This will create MILLIONS of kids rushing to the border and they will have to reverse the policy anyways. We can not just simply allow unaccompanied minors to enter the country. Plain and simple. There has to be a better process. We have to create a good safe system for them to apply on the Mexican side and make it as humane as possible and reasonable as possible. Im a immigrant himself so Im all for immigration but not this way.

 

Trump didn't have a long term policy and had his own border crisis. The GOP controlling 3 branches of government couldn't find a long term solution. I wouldn't hold my breath for anything more than a bandaid.

 

Perhaps a good time to possible solutions to the "border problem" (posted numerous times in the past):

1. Reinforce barriers currently in place at locations needed (areas with high levels of illegal immigration activity)
2. Hire and train more border patrol
3. Employ more technology at remote locations (cameras, heat and motion sensors, drones)
4. Work with Mexico, Central America and South America countries to develop shared strategies and approaches to immigration problems
5. Increase spending on foreign aid programs to improve quality of life in neighboring countries
6. Crack down on hiring practices that serve as the draw to illegal immigration.

 

Except during the Trump Administration there were also a lot of migrants coming to the US border including children. Remember how big of a deal the Caravan was back in 2018 and how Trump and his supporters were talking about an invasion along our Southern Border?

If that was the case then Trump's policies weren't working any better, and likely worse than Biden's policies.

 

Let's also dispense with the arguments that if we can have a fence / wall around my house or the Capitol that we should on the Southern Border. One is measured in thousands of feet the other in thousands of miles with rivers, swamps, deserts and mountains. It would be like saying the fishing pond by my house can be drained so why can't we drain Lake Superior.
