What I love best so far is that KPJ understands the pick and roll. Some guys do their best to pull it off, and look bad doing it, but this kid just gets it. As weird as it sounds, he already looks more comfortable running the play than Wall does. That's pretty astonishing.
his court vision and understanding of the game is exceptional. Of the two mega highlights from last night, the spinning pass off was much more impressive than the under the backboard reverse. The latter takes great body control but was largely a lucky shot (albeit an amazing one). The former requires tracking your teammates and making the right decision while spinning through multiple defenders. The number of players who can make that play is incredibly small, and no one does it as a fluke.
27 and 8 assists in his second game. Couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from the 3 though. Still, his first two games have been impressive.
From what I saw last night, dude has a lot more potential than I thought. Honestly, I feel like a lot of the misery of being a Rockets fan is that we look for any sliver of hope for future prospects ... But with Christian Wood being legit, and seeing how KPJ can actually playmake, has a handle and first step to get into the lane, the future doesn't look as bleak haha. Will see if my opinion changes as the sample size grows, but so far he's not only exciting but promising to have some real talent.
Right. And guys with that kind of court vision are RARE. Harden obviously had it, and CP3. Westbrook? Not at all. There are maybe a dozen guys in the entire league with exceptional court vision, and KPJ looks like he could soon be in that group.
U guys are in for a real shock when our dumbass coach benches our best player porter in favor of dipo and wall.. Very disappointing. And looks like we are stuck with wall for another two or three years cuz no one wants his contract If I'm porter and I get benched in favor of vets , I'm bolting to lakers when my rookie contract is up Wall will throw a pissy fit if he's benched and if he only gets 15 min a game.. so will ego and dipo..I've seen enuff of these divas to know they will complain bout playing time I luv the rockets but I almost hope kpj bolts like harden just to prove a point to Silas that rebuilding means playing young players for experience ..not playing vets cuz they are "good guys in practice".. I don't see Silas sticking around two yrs from now..no d at all, no plays on o at all..just a vanilla o and it's not the players If the Coach draws up the plays and the players miss that's ok But that's nots what happening..there's no plays at all until kpj stepped in the game and he will be bench I promise u he will be benched...rediculous
here is a top 30 list that James isn’t on: https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.www.complex.com/sports/best-nba-players-of-all-time-ranked Can probably debate the back end and whether he should be there but I could easily see James at this point not being on someone’s top 25 list.
Off the dome, in no order: Cap Jordan LeBron Russell Magic Wilt Bird Duncan Shaq Dream Zeke Big O Moses Kobe Dr J West Karl Malone Baylor Wade Dirk Barkley KG Durant Kidd Drexler 25 easy, and I’ve left off a lot of older generation players.
Kidd? Drexler? Harden is near Wade level in terms of accomplishments and context of era as Wade never had to go through a team like the Warriors to win a ring.
Harden is going to retire somewhere in the Top 25 of players to ever play basketball. It’s going to be ok if KPJ doesn’t get there. Talk about insane expectations.
Zeke, Baylor, Drexler and Kidd are easy removals. Harden is better than all of them. He’ll pass Barkley for sure. I don’t know where he settles in but he has a great shot at being in the top 20.
