So? What does that have to do with PJ Tucker sitting out two weeks?

He signed a contract, he played almost the full contract and he played hard and exceeded his contract.

The Rockets do not handle their business professionally, and more important, effectively right now.

I don't think that anyone should feel sorry for Tucker, he will be fine.... but relative to his importance, he has been under paid and it is natural for a player to be aware of that.

No one should be shocked that Tucker said enough is enough in THIS league, with what is acceptable behavior.

That's painful to read and entirely too accurate. Is anything in there that I can blame Fertitta for? It would improve my mood.

    Truth.

    https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2021-nba-player-projections/pj-tucker/

538’s claim based on wins added is that Tucker was worth about 57 million dollars over the last 3 years for us and he was actually paid around 24 million.

Squeezed some insane value out of that deal.

Not at all, completely different situation. Harden was already locked down financially and all he did was sabotage the team to force a trade. PJ Tucker is an aging rule player coming to the end of his contract that needed to prove he still had something left.... and instead he proved he was one of the worst players in the league

I'll laugh my ass off if any team is dumb enough to part with a first rounder for all 3 of those players combined.

If this is truly the case then we shouldn’t buy him out.

PJ had some solid years with the Rockets, but the last couple of years he really has over valued himself. He was expecting a massive contract, and now he is upset that the entire league does not value him enough to offer a decent trade. He will be 36 soon, I have never seen a 36 year old declining role player pull the ole super star diva card. He had a decent contract, he slightly outplayed his contract early on, and as of late I would say he is properly compensated. It evens out to being a decent deal for him considering he was out of the NBA playing overseas, guy should be thankful to even be in the league.

I've had many bad takes in my years at ClutchFans. But one of the worst, without a doubt, was that I didn't want to give up Gordon and Tucker in a deal for Jimmy Butler.

Fortunately, the organization spent as little time considering my opinion as it spent thinking about shipping out those picks for Westbrook.

This year then he's getting paid $8 million when he's probably worth $1 (so far)

So I guess he overplayed his contract by $16m over four years, that's not really that much. Plus remember Tucker turned down less money to play for us so that's part of the bargain as well, not to mention no state income tax.

I agree that Tucker has been underpaid and if he became an FA say after his 2nd season on the deal with us he probably could have gotten $12 mill for the next 3-4 years, but that's not what he signed. He wanted 4 year long term security. If you always want to bet on yourself, sign one year deals.

dude this team is tanking you don’t take face value of what his worth at all on this team.

No, it’s 23 million like what the dude says. Yea he did turned down but he still msssively outperformed the contract by a lot more than he took to play here. Income tax is not an argument for being underpaid.

So what? This is ridiculous. If you really think someone like PJ who has put his body on the line multiple times and revived nerve damage to help this team shouldn’t feel a way about his pay than I don’t know what to tell you. He never should have expected loyalty or decency, that’s all I will say on that.

Funny how the media is now making Tucker as the bad guy? There is a trend of this now how the Rockets handle their business. Harden, cousins and now tucker

Hey guys, I want someone here to go to their boss and tell them they are not happy with their job or the workplace and that you refuse to work until they find you another job somewhere else where you want to work. Let me know how that goes.

Well, I did as you said.

I'm at the corner of Hillcroft and 59, in front of that Starbucks, holding the WILL WERK FOR FEWD sign. Can you bring me $5?

I see him going to Philly or Miami. I was gonna say Brooklyn, but they already picked up Griffin. I bet he’d start making corner 3’s again.

Stop pretending like a professional sports contract is perfectly analogous to an hourly job. These are 2 very distinct forms of employment. With salary caps, profit sharing and league wide protocols it could easily argued that players are as much an employee of the NBA at large as they are their specific teams.

Sabotage the team?? How did he manage to sabotage the team? This team was sabotaged a long time ago by Tillman and his penny pinching. Even with Harden we are not close to contender status.
