It still blows my mind that posters do not understand this is what we NEED to do... you can lead a tank to the battle but you can’t make it drink the water...
Next year (2022) we have our own 1st rounder, that's the year we want to tank hard for worst record and guarantee top 5 pick. It'll be devastating if we end up worst or 2nd worst this year and still gets the 5th pick and goes to OKC/MIA.
I never got the sense that Stone and Silas are purposefully tanking. I legit think they intended on giving the Dipo/Wall/EGo/Wood/PJ unit a good look to see if they could be a sneaky good team and build on that. They weren’t because of injuries and simply because Dipo, Gordon, and PJ underperformed as well. PJ majorly. If they were already truly trying to tank they would’ve move more players during the Harden trade. Plain and simple as that. Now after the deadline... yeah they could be giving Wall and Wood lots of “rest” for sure.
Nba is rigged. I'm sure there was wink-wink deal with the Rockets to be guaranteed a top 4 pick when we traded Harden to Brooklyn. Possibly even top 2 lol. Look at the history of the drafting teams losing their superstars and then getting top 3 picks.
52% is better than 1% right?? This team at best completely healthy and with luck would be a .500 team. Competing vs GS for the play in or whatever only to get trounced and then pick up a consolation player in the draft? That is the most hopeless scenario imaginable. Downright depressing.
Tanking IS stupid. It just unnecessarily puts your fans through hell for years and usually results in no gain. Lots of other methods that are proven to yield results. It was made even MORE stupid when the league changed the draft rules. It is likely to land a team into 10 years of Knicks hell.
the Rockets should be tanking this year, period if u can’t understand that then you’re simply clueless
the Knicks never even tried to tank...they’ve been trying to compete all this time and simply just sucked maybe the 1 year u could say they tanked was 14-15, but they wanted to be a playoff team that year and just failed miserably, so midway through the season it became a tank job...then they ended up with Porzongis because of it who was looking like he’d be a definite star and great player in this league before all the injuries...he didn’t get the unicorn nickname for nothing
Wow you really are totally lost. They repeatedly sat healthy players, their attempts to tank are well documented. Tanking is simply mathematically foolish. If you don't understand that then it's pointless to try to explain further.
Knicks wanted to compete and just suck if u can’t comprehend why the Rockets should he tanking, then you’re right, it is pointless...it’s like trying to teach 2+2 to a grown adult
this is nice site for odds and playing around: http://www.tankathon.com/pick_odds the three worst teams have same odds of staying in the Top 4 = 52% we talk Top 4, because that's our protection. but it is the Top 3 worse team who have same odds. 4th worse has 48%, and so on fwiw: Tie-breakers to decide ranking of who gets how many ping-pong balls is a coin flip
yet nobody can teach u that the alternative is being 13th in the West instead of aiming for a top pick because the team sucks and has little talent Seriously, how dumb can somebody be?
That is overselling this team. This team at best is like a .400 team. Our earlier 6 game winning streak was a bit of a mirage, coming against poor competition with everyone healthy. And "completely healthy" is not possible with this team. All of the starters seem to be a daily injury risk. Durability is a skill of its own. I think we all took for granted how durable Harden was during his 8 years here.
