Rounders was so ahead of its time. It became such a big deal later, it's easy to forget that movie came out BEFORE the huge explosion of popularity of Texas Hold em and the World Poker championship on ESPN, etc. As a movie it is pretty well known, now, but when it was released it died a pretty quick death at the box office.

The thing I loved about that movie is how it went against the common Hollywood tropes. Matt Damon's characters goes through so much crap as a result of chasing this poker dream (and being friends with a sleaze). He loses his girl because of it. The writers could have very easily had the movie go the direction of him realizing love is more important than gambling and dreams and gone back to his ex while giving up the game... but instead he doubles down and pursues the dream, nevermind the woman. It's not something you see very often in Hollywood storytelling, so I appreciated it being different.

They killed so many horses filming it that HBO pulled the plug.

As to your earlier question: draw a name out of a hat, you won't go wrong with any of those 3, it just depends on what sort of movie you're in the mood for.

Definitely not Murica' 11/8/16, that gamble was total ****, yeah there were some funny parts in it, but it dragged on way too long and the ending was just awful.
