Some of you guys are soft. Hating one man more than our #1 rival.

I don't ever want the Spurs to say they have a leg up on us, yet that's not as annoying as Malone winning a title?

    Good grief.

a bunch of whining babies. As to the Spurs, they win it because
they deserve it. Stop being jealous.

No question...Malone...The Spurs will win the series and knock them out...Thank god, but I'd rather have a Texas team win it than the Fakers...

It seems strange to me that some people think the Spurs are our #1 rival. Why? I don't think they've done anything to justify a rivalry.

I'm not worried at all about being overtaken by the Spurs. We've got forever to make it up and I like a good rivalry.

I know I'm in the minority, but aside from Malone I have no problem with the Lakers. Leave Malone out and I like the Lakers better than the Spurs. Leave him in and it's a no-brainer. My top three favorite NBA moments are the Rockets' two championships and watching Malone cry after blowing his best chance at a ring. I can't wait to see him cry again. Even more I can't wait for him to retire ringless. I'm for the Spurs in this series and whoever comes out of Sac-Min after. If the Spurs come out of the West, I'll be for the East. I like Reggie Miller. I'd be happy for him to finally win it.

My name probably disqualifies me from the question, but I'll answer the hypothetical reverse:

If this was Lakers vs. Rockets, I'd be rooting for the Rockets. Why?

#1 - The Spurs-Rockets rivalry is different, very different from the old days. No more red and yellow jerseys. No more Hakeem playing mind-bending basketball. No more hot shooting from Kenny Smith. No more "roll-the-ball-out" coaching from Herman Munster Tomjanovich. I actually sort of like the current Rockets, esp. Yao, JVG, and Mobley (for all his faults).

#2 - Karl Malone is a cancer. He is a bad example both in basketball and in real life. He has hurt players from our team, your team, and others. No one deserves a memento of championship achievement less than he.

#3 - While my dislike for the Rockets has severly curtailed over the years, my hatred of the Lakers has been with me since I was a child watching basketball for the first time

    F MALONE!

Barkley is right...GINOBLY!!!!GINOBLY!!!GINOBLY!!!!.....The Spurs are my second favorite team right now and will win it all this year only if they make it past a hot Sacramento.. I would be cheering on my Rockets but they got their ass kicked by the Lakers. Oh what fun am I having watching Tim,Bowen, Parker and my cousin Manu wipe the arrogant grins off Gary, Karl, Koby, Shaq and especially Phil's face. Dont yall love it ?....GO HORRY! GO MARIO!GO POPS! GO SPURS!!!!!GINOBLY!!!!!GINOBLY!!!!!GINOBLY!!!!!

    LOL. Nah, kidrock8 wasn't a Yao-only Lakers fan. He was a Kobe-only Rockets fan.

Why do you ask? Do you think the league has only existed for five or six years?

I always cheer for the spurs. I like their team. They are playing "team" basketball well. I like Duncan and wish Yao can be like him. I also like Ginobili since he was playing for Argentina in the world cup.

So there is no question with the rocket out already, I wish Spurs to win it all.

Besides, I extreamly hate the lakers and very dislike Malone.
They are evil. I wish for them to get sweep in this round.

IT all comes down to the fact that if the Spurs go up by one in the title race now, the Rockets can surpass them again later. But if Malone gets his ring, there is no way to take it back from him.
