Just got my first Pfizer shot. Only problem was the 50 minute drive. My wife gets hers tomorrow, so we get to do the drive again.

    Things were run incredibly well.

That's a good sign. People have been reluctant to take the J&J shot in Europe.

The single shot vaccine is a game changer in getting past this nightmare.

That's what I got for shot #1 too. Good to know. Maybe I'll have a fever or something still, but good to know.

Tim Walz Gov. of MN just announced today that they are aiming for that all adults who want a shot should be able to get one by the end of April. Looking on the MN website though it still says for me it wouldn't be until May or June. I'm starting to think about international travel in June so am holding out hope things go as fast as the Governor says.

Got J&J yesterday. Was fine until late morning today and now in the afternoon, feeling full on flu symptoms. Muscle aches all day, chills, tiredness. No appetite. Trying to power through and work, but not sure if it's making it worse.

Thanks, finally able to sleep it off and have the symptoms go away over night. I think I would've recovered faster if I wasn't working throughout the day. Definitely suggest blocking out time the day after your vaccine.

That doesn't sound good but that is an indicator that the vaccine is working because it's causing an immune system reaction.

Good advice on blocking out some time. I've heard people who have gotten the Pfizer shot and some were down for as long as a day.

    Hope you feel better soon.

Whichever vaccine I get, I'm just going to take a day off afterwards. I guess with the two dose, it would be the day after the second?

Honestly, I read reports of others having no symptoms after the J&J shot. Part of me wonders if I was exposed to covid and never knew. I never got tested since this past year and I never had any symptoms that would lead me believe I had it.

Edit: Well it seems 55% in trials of the J&J developed flu symptoms, so I guess it's 50/50 if you do.

From what I've read, if you are getting a two dose vaccine, the second dose is where you'll have the more severe side effects, so you should plan to take the day after the second dose.

The J&J shot can hit you like a truck just like the other ones. I know 3 people that have gotten the J&J (including my wife), and the two that are younger both got hit by the "flu like symptoms" truck.

Registered but not get it until late summer or 2022 depending on the waiting line.

I think you mean the Astra Zeneca vaccine (which is two shot). J&J only got approved in the EU today so no one has actually gotten it there yet. Meanwhile, Astra Zeneca has not been approved in the US.

The problem with Astra Zeneca is that it is a two shot vaccine with lower efficacy than other two shot solutions. Plus Astra Zeneca had some awful publicity last month when a study came out that said it only had 10% efficacy against the South African variant. But because it is two shot, it requires the seem challenges as the other two shot solutions (but with lower effectiveness).

With J&J, you trade some efficacy for a single shot vaccine (and J&J went through phase 3 trials in Brazil and South Africa and showed significantly higher efficacy in South Africa compared to Astra Zeneca).

I think some people have symptoms for 2 days. A lot of the Pfizer people didn't have any symptoms after the first shot, but got hit by a truck after the second. I never had any issues after either one. Makes me wonder if I got anything. LOL.

My friend just got the J&J shot and she didn't have any symptoms for several hours before it hit her.

*EDIT* : changed Moderna to J&J as the shot my friend just got.

They say the older you are, the less of an immune response you'll have ;).

*EDIT* : just asked her and she said she got the J&J shot on Sunday and it wasn't until Monday night when it started to hit her, Tuesday was horrible, and today was the first day she "felt almost normal again".
