Good role type player to have. Won’t wow you with athleticism, but is a solid player. Can hit the open **** at a decent rate and is active on the boards to get extra possessions. Plays hard. Good for us in this transition period, develop him into a good role player while we draft or trade for the star talent.

Lamb was a 4 year starter at Vermont. He was very productive and improved a lot in college. He is essentially an undersized 4 and small ball 5. He is 6’6” with a 7’0” wingspan. He is deceptively strong and his low center of gravity and long arms make him a strong rebounder. He defends well in the post for the same reason, he is excellent at getting positioning and getting his assigned player off kilter.

His top attribute is his heart and head. The player that he compared himself to as a senior in college? PJ Tucker. He knows his limitations and is willing to embrace being a role player. He has worked hard on his three shot and ability to finish inside.

I think his offense is more developed than his defense. While he can bang inside, position well and has good defensive instincts in the paint; there is a real question about whether his feet are quick enough to defend 2’s and 3’s on defense off switches.

I personally think Armoni Brooks is a better player. Brooks is a very under rated defensive player, is mentally tough, a really good shooter and can put the ball on the floor enough to not be entirely predictable. Lamb plays a different position though. The effort and hustle will be there for Lamb and he is a model player off the court. He has shown an aptitude to expand his game and improve... he will really go at it like Tate does. Lamb is the type of player that physically beats on players, everything is physical. He is considered very teachable and professional.

Ultimately his success is going to come down to his ability to improve his foot speed to guard perimeter players on switches.

He is more of a PJ Tucker replacement. He is a 4/5.... he is very good inside on offense and defense... he is improving as a shooter on the perimeter...

Nice overview Nook! I wanted Lamp and Brooks to come up, one down and one to go.

I like Lamp's versatility and aggressiveness. He integrated his game into the Vipers flow almost seamlessly, really impressive how he just fit in so quickly. He was the go to guy for his college team and it showed in his confidence in the G-League. How that transitions to the big league will be interesting to see, but at least he has some tools to work with.

I follow UH very closely, and watched Brooks when he was there. His shot is for real. Hope he can get a spot on the Rockets eventually..

The dude can ball. Very good fundamentals, patient, and high-IQ. Like someone said - Luis Scola-Esque. He’s going to be a really underrated role player/semi star. He and KPJr. play very well together.
