At minimum, I think most people expect Tucker and Oladipo to be gone after the trade deadline. There’s an outside chance for others to be gone too like Wall, House, McLemore, Gordon, etc. So there will be opportunities for these young pups. Who do you think will seize the moment this year?

Patton. Or Porter Jr. But, please, let the crew get some real op.

The correct answer is young players that are facing the rockets :)

I find it intriguing that your poll doesn't allow to select more than one player so I am curious as to why you made this thread. If you are asking which young player is the best and will see the most sucess then it is MPJ otherwise I don't understand your question.

I think it’s a nuanced question that allows people to make the case for different players not only based on skill but opportunity and team needs.

do you think that if a guard gets traded that KPJ will get first dibs over a guy like Mason who has been with the team and in the rotation all season?

Yeah I just noticed it. Wouldn't be a bad player to have though. Get them brothers on the same team and maybe they will stick around all though history doesn't support they would.

Yes. He's a large part of the team's future plans.

Hopefully all the young dudes get substantial minutes because we made trades and are ready to develop all the young talent. Kpj will be over Jones but I still want to see Jones play too.

Where is this stuff coming from? I 100% believe that Stone is very much hoping Kevin Porter Jr will mature both on and off the court and prove himself to be one of the biggest steals in NBA history. I am sure he is very happy with the way the kid performed in the G League. But let's be very clear about this: KEVIN PORTER JR HAS NOT PROVEN A DAMNED THING! So again, I am sure management would love to see him prove himself to be somebody who can be a large part of the team's future plans, but right now he's just a low risk bet they made.

I'm as excited about the kid's potential as anyone (within reason), but y'all lost your damned minds if you think Stone is already looking at this kid as a future building block. I bet right now he's just praying the kid makes it through the season without any further outbursts or legal troubles and y'all out here acting like he's the next Isaiah Hartenstein or something.

At 19 averaging double digit points on decent efficiency in the NBA is something.

Ya I'm exited about the kid's potential. I don't know what you are complaining about. I already acknowledged multiple times in other threads about him the major hurdles he has to overcome mentality but he still is one of the players that is corr to our future if he suatains his current streak of good behavior.

I acknowledge with someone like KPJ, that situation can change in a single night.

I am not following everything you're saying in every thread. I am responding to what you said here. And in this thread you made the claim that he is a large part of the team's future plans. I disagree entirely. He hasn't done anything in a Rockets jersey to justify making him a large part of the team's future plans. And everything he did in Cleveland last year is negated by the fact they basically paid us to take him off their hands.

If you had even phrased it as, "I think management is hopeful that he can be a large part of their future plans" you'd have had no disagreement from me. I am sure that would be true. But you said it as if it is 100% certain that the Rockets view him as a core piece they plan to build around, and that just seems really far fetched to me.

Yes the Rockets view him as a core piece. Stone has already come out and stated they are grooming him to be our primary ball handler by easing him on this season as the back up pg to Wall. You don't say that about a 20 year old who isn't a important part of your future.

Him being volitie is mutually exclusive to the organization thinking he's an important piece.

I hate how they wait until the last millisecond to get a deal done. Can't stand trade rumors but the rockets will wait until the end.
