What I find interesting is that Democratic leadership has been calling for a non partisan investigation and many have called for him to step down or be removed. Would we see this same response from Republican rank and file?
Absolutely not. The GOP has a very Authoritarian mindset which means political leaders are more infallible in the eyes of the GOP voting base. We've seen multiple articles here about how it's a problem with democrats how "leftists" under the party tent are overly critical of Obama, Biden, Clintons etc. It's not a party centered around the character and love of a politician. GOP treats their elected leaders like they are a larger than life figures (Reagan and Trump) hence why you see so much paraphernalia for GOP leaders. It's why you see the worship of Individuals like Reagan and Trump.
Republicans only participate in innocent “locker room” talk. It’s all in good fun and perfectly acceptable.
"Cuomo accuser alleges a staffer took sexual harassment training for the governor": https://www.cbsnews.com/news/cuomo-accuser-charlotte-bennett-sexual-harassment-training-staffer/ excerpt: When asked Wednesday if he had completed sexual harassment training, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said the "Short answer is yes." But Charlotte Bennett, one of the women accusing the governor of sexual harassment, said his office director completed the training for him in 2019. "In 2019, he did not take the sexual harassment training," Bennett told "CBS Evening News" anchor and managing editor Norah O'Donnell. "I was there. I heard [the office director] say, 'I can't believe I'm doing this for you' and making a joke about the fact that she was completing the training for him. And then I heard her at the end ask him to sign the certificate." Stephanie Benton, Cuomo's office director, "categorically denies the exchange," according to a statement from the governor's office that added, "this is not true." more at the link
They got the wrong skunk, free Pepe, it's Cummo Also Pepe is after the same cat for about 50 years Cummo has gone after 5 so far as we know @Nook
I agree with the article for the most part, except the Clinton part.... it is different in that the relationship between Clinton and Lewinsky was widely viewed as consentual. Most of the public ire was that he cheated on his wife while in office.
Buy Janice Dean's book instead. It is awesome and Cuomo was an unfortunate inspiration. https://m.barnesandnoble.com/w/Make-Your-Own-SunshineJanice-Dean/1138486252?ean=9780063027978
Waiting for calls that Cuomo is being censored, this is an affront to personal freedom and how dare a private publishing company dare to not print anymore copies of a book from someone controversial. If Crown refuses to add to the tens of thousands of copies already in circulation "American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from COVID-19" how are historians every going to learn how the Governor of NY in 2020 handled COVID-19.
Disagree. The public ire split two ways and nobody cared that he cheated on Hillary. Democrats = "Seriously, Bill? You dumbass." Republicans = "He did what to whom? Who gives a sh-- oohhh, wait a minute. We CARE! Get this national message off the economy ASAP!"
I do love the extent to which HR trainings have pervaded 21st century work life. Like, even that we could mention skipping a training as an offense versus actually sexual harassment is pretty amazing. Kudos, @HR Dept !
Number six and counting https://www.timesunion.com/news/article/Cuomo-faces-new-allegation-of-sexual-harassment-16011424.php Cuomo faces new sexual harassment allegation, this time at Executive Mansion Female aide claims governor touched her inappropriately; complaint reported to AG Brendan J. Lyons March 9, 2021Updated: March 9, 2021 3:02 p.m. ALBANY — A sixth woman has come forward and leveled allegations of sexual harassment or inappropriate conduct against Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, and a supervisor in the Executive Chamber recently became aware the woman had alleged that the governor inappropriately touched her late last year during an encounter at the governor's mansion, where she had been summoned to do work. An official close to the matter on Tuesday confirmed to the Times Union that the new allegation had been made. The governor's office learned of the matter on Monday, an aide said. In response to questions about the handling of the revelation of the woman's allegations, Beth Garvey, acting counsel to the governor, said: "All allegations that we learn of directly or indirectly are going promptly to the investigators appointed by the attorney general." The complaint was reported to the governor's counsel by other employees in the Executive Chamber. The information also was relayed by the governor's office to the attorney general's office, which is coordinating an investigation into multiple allegations of sexual harassment that have been made against the governor. The sixth woman, whose identity is being withheld by the Times Union because she could not be reached for comment, is a member of the Executive Chamber staff. The investigation being coordinated by the attorney general's is being handled by two private attorneys, Joon H. Kim, a former acting U.S. attorney for New York's Southern District in Manhattan, and Anne L. Clark, who specializes in labor law and sexual harassment cases.
