I wonder what will our Team Manager and Head Coach have done for the Team during the All Star Break? Will they make trades for JOHN WALL, MJ. TUCKER, VICK OLADIPO, OR ERIC GORDON? WILL THEY FIND YOUNG REPLACEMENTS for them? Will they move our players who make little or no additions during our first half games, such as TJ TUCKER, RODI KURUCS, and DANTE EXUM I expect Kevin Porter Jr. to be playing with the Rockets, what about two or three more of their players of the Vipers who show great promise? Will Justin Patton get a chance for decent playing time asa back up big man? Yetti
Does that mean they’re not gonna be playing in the playoffs? Dammit! They’re on 6 game win-streak. I say let KPJr. win a championship. Looks like he’s having a good time out there... plus we don’t wanna accidentally go on a winning streak. We need that pick! Plus kPJr needs to keep winning. I don’t want him to get used to being the best player on a losing team!
Therein lies the conundrum... how to balance player development with hoping to keep our pick this year.

If the team doesn't have to swap, they could accelerate the rebuild by leaps and bounds by adding a top four pick to the Porter/Wood nucleus. If they have to swap they will likely pick around 20.
buddy i see a lot of jumping to conclusions here...correct me if i am wrong but for all we know top 4 pick might be an epic bust and a lot weaker player then pick no 20, or he may be more injury prone or harder to find chemistry with etc etc... you accelerate rebuild by drafting correctly, grooming your players correctly, coaching them, establishing a culture with positive habits....etc... top 20 pick you absolutely can find a star ... you can find it even with 2nd round picks if you know what you do.... the talent pool is wider nowadays than 30 yeas ago... start this process of rebuild by hiring a decent shooting coach for gods sake... thats how you truly accelerate
Whatever the Vegas line is, take the team Rockets is playing the rest of the season. You will end up smiling.
We’ll trade Tucker, Gordon, BMac, House, and Vic. We’ll get some picks, expirings, and young talent in return. The surprise trade piece no one will see coming is Nwaba (29 next yr). Wall will remain a rocket; he’ll be moved either next off-season or trade deadline when the years on his contract turn into something teams can actually live with. top 4 pick or bust baby. We need a franchise player.

... sure you can get lucky with late picks turning into stars but it's still very unlikely. Look at the stars today. How many of them were not lottery picks? Best player I see is Draymond and people debate endlessly on how good he actually is..
