He's NOT going to give up 40 million bucks. Nobody including LeBron would give up that much money. He doesn't seem like a ring chaser to me either. Honestly I don't even see him caring about winning all that much considering how he never complained about losing in Washington.

Not a ring chaser, pure stat padder.

To be fair, what pro athlete coming off an Achilles injury is going to turn down more than $47M?

Agreed but that has little to do with my point.

Wall's priorities has never been ring or bust.

That was not the culture with the Wizards like it used to be with the Rockets.

Rockets I think needs to Pickup Half of John Wall Salary.

Get Expiring Contracts, Get Iguodala so he can teach the younger players. Hopefully Andre Iguodala is fine with a Mentor Role.

Need to clear Wall's salary if really serious about a rebuild, FRP will not be cheap.

    Especially top 5 draft picks.

I’m not advocating for it, just thinking about it in the context of this thread.

The only reason to do it would be to either save money (Tilman) for 2021 and/or be flexible.

Sure, if that’s even a possibility.

I'm sure Riley will take him if he doesn't have to offer much. If I'm Houston, I'm not even looking to get equivalent talent. Just expiring contracts or smaller ones that can/ are guaranteed to be easily be moved. That's it. After this break I expect the ball to be in Wood's and KPJ's hands. The season is still a lost cause but next season might not be. This is where Stone has to shine and continue to be aggressive. We can either be stuck in mediocrity for another era like the Tmac days or we can become a contender within a season.

I don't think this is true. There were recent articles that went in depth on the Harden trade, the Heat wanted him, Butler had signed off on the trade as well, the Rockets just wanted too much. From an article on this Wall trade today, Houston apparently wants Herro still in this Wall trade I can see them making the trade without Herro though for Wall.

I mean, he had some winning runs in DC too.

We seem to be re-writing history a bit.

Iggy? He is far from a mentor. Remember the Memphis bs?

He never won over 49 wins in the Leastern conference and only broke 500 ball 4 times. The Wizards sucked. Wall has a career losing record by more than a few games not braking 30 wins in his first 3 seasons.

It’s not like he had horses around him though, let’s get real. With the talent he had, making it to the playoffs and performing in the playoffs is no small feat. Hell, he was a few plays from making the damn ECF in 16-17. Took the Celtics to 7 in round 2 and was BALLING.

There is a reason DC loves him still. Put some respect on his name. Clutchfan casuals just throwing doo-doo at the wall (Wall).

Beal is NBA leading scorer this season and multiple All Star.

Thomas Bryant, Davis Bertrans, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Rui Hachimura, Trevor Ariza, Otto Porter Jr, Kelly Oubre, Trey Burke, Danuel House, Markieff Morris, Nene, Jeff Green, Jabari Parker, Ish Smith, Dwight Howard, Paul Pierce, Tomas Satoransky, Bobby Portis, Garrett Temple, Austin Rivers even Marcin Gorat are pretty good horses.

Beal and Harden would be in the Eastern conference. Wall will never sniff 60 wins because he's an inefficient ball hogging stat padder that dribbles the air out of the ball
