Precious is a project. Being a Memphis fan, I watched almost every college game he started. He is not the key to getting Beal, but he would be a decent get for us for Oladipo or Gordan. I don't really think Beal is going anywhere. Washington will want 3 FRP for him and Miami won't gut their team by substituting Herro and Robinson for picks they don't have.
Riley won't give up his prospects whether they be projects or not for Oladipo which he can get for free (no prospects) in the off-season. Those prospects are like nuts being storage for the winter by a squirrel.....only prospects can help the franchise long term, as in 10 years starting out as cheap labor. Also Precious reminds him of A.C. Green. Riley will trade for Oladipo if he can unload trash contracts, clearing roster spots to add talent now to win now.
With the state of Houston sports...I believe that they refuse to tank and will do stupid moves like not trade our vets then overpay Vic pleaseeee prove me wrong stone. Trade the vets and TANK by trying to win with youth
Definitely fire sale... plus you will have to accept that since Daryl Morey’s Tweet, the Rockets are not longer a cash cow for the NBA. The CBA has cut ties with the Rockets... James Harden was the final blow. The Chinese-owned Brooklyn Nets will take the Rockets place in China. Having a pro-trump owner does not help this franchise whatsoever in the near future. They’re not going to generate the same revenue since loosing Chinese fans simple math... this is what Harden was alluding to... he made a business decision. Going against China is not his best interest even if he got whatever he wanted in Houston.
Yes, they need more offensive punch from their guard positions. They have Randal points from near the rim. Exum if healthy could provide a defensive presence in the back court. Just a matter of if Knicks having enough to trade? Foreign players/picks. Rockets have TPE's to help if need be. Remember Knicks obtained D Rose giving up 2nd round pick and forcing Pistons to take Dennis Smith if off their hands. Some might say D Rose is better for team concept and salary right now than Dipo.
I don’t think they are tanking. I think they just ****ing suck. The yahoos in charge wouldn’t even know how to tank properly.
Looking at the numbers of Precious: basketball-reference.com Precious: per 36-minures FGM.....FGA........ORB........DRB........TRB.......Ast........stl........blk...........pts 6.2........10.3..........3.4...........7.0..........10.3........1.5.........1.1........1.4...........15.5 2 games as starter: 13.5 pts..........12 TRB..............2.5 ast...........66.2% (TS%) Man if that's a project player........I will take that any day. Wish Capela was that good year one (rookie) As if Riley doesn't know these numbers......good luck with that.
Patrick Fertitta may be pulling the strings, making or setting up an accidental-intentional outcome. Accumulaton of 6'5" and under guards stinks of incompetence and stock piling quarterbacks in anticipation of teams needing the NBA version of quarterbacks at the trade deadline reeks as well. Either way management can play the, "were just dumb card" I'm hoping management is not truly this stupid. For the future of the Rockets sake.
We need to dump anyone over 25 and build around Wood and Tate. Personally I would ship Dipo, Gordon, and PJ to Miami for Herro, Kelly Olynyk, Meyers Leonard, and Iggy's corpse - that would give you maximum cap space heading into 2022. This year: PG: Wall / KPJ SG: Herro / Jones SF: Tate / House / KMJ PF: Olynyk / Kurucs C: Wood / Patton When 2022 comes around, maybe you sign Bradley Beal or Zach LaVine. The Nets' big 3 can all be free agents that year too, so now all of those picks become much more valuable. This needs to be the blueprint.
