I watched 10 minutes of it. But turned it off. I just have no desire to watch it. I never saw dumb and dumber too, super troopers 2, boondock saints sequel all movies including coming to America I love. If you wait that long for a follow up the magic is gone and it just turns into a place time that doesn’t fit anymore for me I guess. the matrix though I’ll be watching that 100%
It wasn't Amazon it was freaking Kenya Barris that screwed it up. I think he was the writer.. He screws up all the black properties.. with his brand of "Black-ish" comedy - (he is the creator of blackish on abc) Casting was great but there has no charm in this..
I would describe it as "cute" but, beyond that, it wasn't really funny and was unoriginal. It was obviously more about the nostalgia factor. I'm sure it was a lot of fun filming it for the actors. But, it feels like they had a better time making it than we get to have watching it. I honestly don't know how you make a great sequel to the original. It's an impossible task at this point.
So those who watched it, is it just basically a remake of the first one? Damn was hoping this would be good. Will still watch even just to see a man you may remember as Joe the Policeman on the What’s Going Down? episode of That’s My Mama
I have no desire to see it. You can tell that it's basically a rehash and a BAD one at that. The barbershop scene in the trailer was all the warning I needed to stay away.
I feel bad saying this but why is she even a thing, I have yet to see her do anything funny. Actually her riffing on MSNBC is kinda funny. I did not notice her in the trailer.
I enjoyed it. Of course it'll never live up to the original, but that's cool. Wesley Snipes was the star!
Cute is a fair assessment. I’m not sure it was a comedy. It was like a light-hearted drama with Eddie Murphy in a supporting role. I think Arsenio Hall was in it.
I had 3 of my black friends post about it today. Not sure why nobody else did. One loved it, one hated it and the 3rd was a solid meh. I still have to see it.
I'm glad I read all the negative comments here first. You all did a wonderful job lowering my expectations and helped me enjoy the hell out of it. There were a few rough edits around the middle of the movie, but it hit all the right notes for me and left me teary eyed at the end. Spoiler: Mild spoilers ahead I thought Leslie Jones was great. She was funny in every scene and a welcome addition. Tracy Morgan had his best movie role ever, IMHO. And it was nice seeing Arsenio back on the big screen. His Witchdoctor character was probably the funniest of the whole franchise.
